Add it to the list of eff ups

Reckon we could’ve had may and banch
Dogs were the threat for banch but wanted Sellwood more
I'm pretty sure that Zac was our number one go, if we didn't pick him up at 2 then he would have been taken pretty quickly,
Yeah apparently we had chatted to the Swans and it was the other of who they chose. And ten years later = nothin.

For the masses, yesterday made it 3.5 wins from our last six games. So one could now suggest we will find life a tad easier chatting to decent FA's.

The below should be the games we really target. Win 3 of that lot and we finish with 7.5 wins and we should be happy with our work.

Melbourne
Sydney
StKilda
Richmond
Adelaide ( H) ( huge scalp if we pulled it off)
Well we could, but I would like to think this way; one team that has mauled us in recent years is Brisbane the reining champions and we should have won, what an effort though, the one team that usually slaughters us, we are now ready to take them on.

Collingwood, the team on top of the ladder and some peoples choice for the flag, at 3/4 time we had a chance to win, while they take care of opponent after opponent. Two of the best & we are still a way off to what we are going to be & what we are going to do to our opponents, yet we are doing this to them now?

People still upset about our last quarter, the process is taking place and I've been saying look for "the little things". Our thinking will be we can do this to the top two teams in the comp we can & we will, do it to everyone else, in other words, we target everyone, because this is the learning process taking shape, win or lose we must confront it, learn from it because knowledge & confidence are the keys for our final destination. ;)

If im picking a squad for a final in 3 years, these are the names I'd pencil in:

B: *****, 1 of Logue/Pink, M.Whitlock
HB: Hardeman, Comben, McKercher
C: *****, LDU (26), O'Sullivan
HF: Simpkin (27), *****, Duursma
F: Zurhaar (27), Larkey(27) , Curtis
Foll: Xerri (26), Wardlaw, Sheezel
Inter: Powell, *****,*****,*****

Current depth for remaining *****:
B: W.Dawson, 1 of Logue/Pink (27), Goater, Archer
M: Phillips, Stephens, RHJ, Urquart
F: CCJ, Maley, B.George, Konstanty, Banch
Goad

M.Whitlock & Duursma make the squad purely on 'potential' with no injury history.

Starting 18, to be confirmed:
Def, Caleb in 2 years ain't it. Who?
Wing: Do we need to add to the Stephens, O'Sullivan, Mckercher line breaking, play making depth? Yes. Another Elite ball user, can see this by RHJ's I50's when he's on, but RHJ himself still has a few things to prove.
CHF: W.Dawson back to def, Larkey 27...wtf?!
Small fwd: Kossie, Cyril...one can dream. Curtis' takes the edge off, Curtis + a pressure fwd Konst/Banch may be adequate?

We want this squad all but 'complete' within the next 24 months and have the following currency:
2025 Rd2 x 2
2026 Rd1, Rd 2
Trade future picks
Free Agency

What's the most pressing need? How do we keep adding elite talent?

Watch this years trade & free agency period, this will give a clear Idea. :)

A bit more line breaking run wouldn't go astray, but I think you're underselling Stephens, and imo the most pressing needs are still a good key forward, a good key defender, and a good small forward.

We need a version of Maley who can kick reliably, as well as some real competition for Fisher, Konstanty, RHJ, Logue and (dare I say) Pink.

I think Konstanty, RHJ and Pink have defied expectations, which has been very fortunate, but there isn't really a lot of viable competition for their roles at the moment. Hopefully Banch takes to the top level like a duck to water, as I won't be surprised if Payne is delisted this year, and Stevens next.

W Dawson and Whitlock may well be the future KPPs we require, but until such time as they prove themselves at the top level, our KPPs still need more depth.

I would try to get Leek Aliir and either Riccardi or Gruzewski from GWS.

If we could get those pieces in place for next year, I think we aim to attract a couple matchwinners after we have a season in 2026 that shows we're really going places. Ben King will be an RFA, and Joel Freijah will be OOC, as will Jack Whitlock and Nate Caddy.

Then its time for us to hit the pointy end.

Surely Parker is getting in Ollie Florents ear if he makes a move back to Victoria? Can’t get a game for Sydney at the moment. Have always rated him
Geez, I haven't. No topline speed, shit in the air, average kick.

Some would say he's the prototype North Melbourne footballer, but I'm not falling for that again

when i read that post i was thinking what does he bring to our list??

then i noticed nostrils liked it and it confimed my hunch he would add nothing.

I don't think Florent would provide much more than Tucker or Fisher.

Bingo, especially for what he'd cost.

If he had a bit of a harder edge I wouldn't be against it, but he is pretty soft and isn't particularly good one on one.

Would rather Starcevich as a free agent.
