Seriously, clubs should just tell these players a hard NO...you want out, buyout your contract and be a free agent or play here for the reminder of your contract.
Then you get "I don't want to play here"..no problems, sit out of football - that will reinforce a contract again!!

Until a club has the nuts to do the above or are allowed to trade contract players, player managers will keep playing this card!

The solution is obvious. And the AFLPA will never allow it.

I very much doubt we'd get that high a pick, even if it drops with bids 4-5 spots. You'd have to send back 20 or 21.
I think mid/late R1 from a contending team or early R2 in this draft or next years would be more likley.
