Jy is a multiple time BnF winner, top 5 this year and 27. If club like Essendon want him its a first rounder in the top 10. A pick that will blow out. Little guarantee that the player drafted plays footy to what Jy will. Bombers will also have a big Merrett shaped hole in their team

Petracca leaving Melbourne to go to Adelaide when he's not from SA would be silly.

I might be in the minority, but I reckon's Melbourne list is capable of finals next year. The question is can they be coached there.
No they can't.

Melksham's 34, McDonald's 33, Gawn's 34, May's 33, and Viney will be 32 before the next season begins. They've left their list refresh way too late.

Gawn and Viney are the only two of those who are yet to show signs of falling off the cliff.

If they are truly after Mihocek, it would suggest they're gearing up to compete.

The competition is nothing to write home about at the moment in my opinion.

Worth having another crack while the premiership players are around.

how is that different to Collingwood's profile who are about to potentially play off in their second GF in 3 seasons?

Collingwood have more players over 30 than Melbourne does, and older! Pendles 37, Sidey 35..

They’ll probably recruit Goldi , he would fit right in .

Because …

How many midfields can genuinely match the mix of composure, vision, silk and leadership that Pendlebury still brings?

How many clubs have a more clutch set-shot than Jamie Elliott, who has created some of the biggest finals moments of the last decade?

How many players have Sidebottom’s combination of footy IQ, elite work rate and a left foot that consistently opens the game up?

How many players give you a more bankable, AFL-standard output every single week than Jack Crisp?

And how many key forwards combine steady goal scoring with the selfless, system-first work rate of Brody Mihocek?

and yet despite all that, they missed finals last year.

It can turn quickly, is my point. The core of the Dees premiership team is still there. If coached correctly, I can see them bouncing and making finals next year.
