Beveridge thinks dogs are coming hard for Butts (pun intended).

Twomey thinks we are still in it with Windhager and should hear within a week or so.
Up that offer for windy one more time and let’s get that done

Also apparently Steven May is gettable

Around that 8-18 mark. probably would have been higher, but did he ACL 3-4 months ago.

Powerful, tall outside runner who is a big meters gained player. Strong overhead, fantastic ground level player and is a fantastic athlete.

There is a lot to like about him. Plays both sides of the body, Looks a decent size and accurate disposal..

No ifs and butts

North Melbourne are continuing to monitor contracted Crows defender Jordon Butts as a potential acquisition during the upcoming trade period, however Adelaide are more likely to retain the 25-year-old, who is signed until the end of 2026.

Butts was in good form before he suffered a punctured lung in a tough win against the Western Bulldogs in round 18 and did not return for the finals. He played 10 games in 2025 as a lockdown defender and got under the skin of Richmond’s Tom Lynch, who was suspended for five matches for striking him in round 16.

However, the Crows’ straight-sets exit and the need for competition in key positions has made it more likely that Butts, who will be a free agent next season, remains at the club.
Veteran forward Taylor Walker’s future remains uncertain, while the Crows have extended defender Hugh Bond.

Key defenders such as Butts are in short supply, with former Blue Jack Silvagni accepting a big offer to join St Kilda, while the Bulldogs have made a bid to prise contracted All-Australian Callum Wilkie out of St Kilda.

Problem is AFLPA will never agree to it. Dangerfield said not a chance last night. The tail is wagging the dog and the game is falling apart.
**** em

They can down tools if they like but enough is enough.
Allow this to continue and it’ll be like soccer where only the same few teams win the flag.

It's not 2004 anymore where everyone thinks they are a chance at the flag. With coaches more or less openly saying their clubs are in rebuilds, the AFL knows a lot of fans might see no point in staying engaged with the game and might drop off. It can take almost 10 years sometimes. Not like most other sports. That is agonizingly long due to the sheer number of players required to field a team that is competitive.

I have said, by and large, we have seen the same 4 clubs making it to the pointy end of the season for a couple of decades now, with this season no different, Hird and Eddie pointed it out last night. The AFL would know it too.

six diff teams have won the EPL in last 20 yrs bit more than a few...
Outside the Big 5, only Blackburn and Leicester have won the EPL when it became the Premier League in 1992
Man U (13)
Man City (8)
Chelsea (5)
Liverpool (2)
Arsenal (5).

Only Aston Villa (1), Tottenham(1), Newcastle (2), Blackburn (1) have broken the big 5's stranglehold in terms of runner ups as well!!

This is what a no salary cap but a transfer window league looks like

If you compare roughly the same time period with the list of GF appearances per team, since 1987:
Geel- 10
Haw- 9
Coll- 7
WCE- 7
Bris- 6
Ess- 4
Carl- 4
NM- 3 -shoulda made more GF's in this era:mad:
Rich- 3
StK- 3
Melb- 3
Adel- 3
Foots- 2
Port- 2
Freo- 1
GWS- 1
GC-0
