Down by 12 after the 1st. Smith is having a lot of trouble against a much bigger, stronger opponent. All he can do is keep competing and try to beat him around the ground. Baker looked good in defence but Jones looked slow and clumsy. This team doesn't give up so a long way to go.

Madden is a good ruck so it's a great test for Smith.

Gallagher has a bad habit of trying to take on multiple players and losing it. Needs to rethink his game.

Well youve got to play him somewhere. Simply stating I think his attributes would be better suited there. That's why.

The only position he can possibly play in the AFL side is a depth small defender. Pointless playing him anywhere else in the VFL

He has absolutely no forward line support and the forward entries are just atrocious bombing into a leaping pack - no chance to pluck a mark and no space to lead into. The VFL team are a couple of KPP short also so he is the only target up front and easily covered.

Exactly this. Can't blame Croft for his form over the last couple weeks, the mids couldn't make it much harder for him.

This is the downside to our injuries no midfield or KPF outside of Smith in ruck

Not seeing too many banging down the door for selection so far. Poulter maybe to replace a Hynes if you wanted to make a change. Arty has been ok but we've been there a few times already with him, Jaques looks pretty composed off half back but happy for him to build a block of good form at VFL level. Baker so erratic with the ball and Gallagher getting a bit of it, but playing midfield and not hugely damaging.

The further the 2nd went the more that GWS skill and pace shone out. We looked a bit dispirited towards the end of the quarter being beaten in most areas. We have a few that are trying hard but the contrast between the two teams is stark. It's only a half but on the evidence thus far, all positions in the AFL team are safe.

Croft should be playing down back I’m convinced of it. He cannot impact up forward in this current set up

Had to switch this game off as it was starting to sully the joy of last night's performance. We just cannot build a chain of possessions with the skill level in this VFL team. I dare say our injury list is exposing the depth of our VFL side more than the seniors, as we've picked the eyes out of our best second-tier players to promote them.

100% is Marra Darcy Flea Treloar Garcia Coffield are either pushing players out of the afl side down who are doing well currently or like the latter 2 are good vfl players
