What position is Dom playing? On a wing?
Appears to be playing a swingman role. Started the season slowly but building his output recently. Has played back but noticed he kicked 4 goals yesterday against a very weak Northern Bullants side.

Interesting. Has all the tools to be on a afl list. Always felt like it was all above the shoulders for him.

Bramble hasn't reached the heights of last season, especially with his run, carry, and kicking. Backing him to improve in the second half of the season.
Not like he has been terrible either. As long as players are at least serviceable in their roles and doing more right than good. But at least we know he has scope and room to improve, given we know he is capable of producing better as evident on last season.

I agree bramble is having a solid season and contributing well as a role player, you couldn't ask much more of him. Jacques however has the scope to be alot more then that and for alot longer. I'm not one to bring guys in on scope alone especially when someone is comfortably holding down a spot ahead of them, but if Jacques demands the spot, we don't lose anything in the short term whilst gaining alot in future years.

Maybe, but his very slight body bothers me .
I have no doubt he ends up a better footballer than Bramble, I’m also excited by what Jaques will become.

Why the want or haste to replace Bramble , putting together another very solid season.
Mature body in a pretty young backline.
Jacques is going to be good , that I agree with you on.
I thought Bramble did really well in the windy conditions, with some of those long bombs out of Ports backline.

Just some observations from around the leage:
  • Dominic Bedendo with a few high production weeks for Port Melbourne.
    • R4: 29 disposals and 3 marks against Essendon (16 point loss)
    • R5: 26 disposals and 4 marks against Box Hill (38 point loss)
    • R6: 22 disposals, 8 marks and 4.2 against the Bullants (99 point win)
    • * he only had the 2 tackles across those 3 games so not sure what his defensive efforts has been like
  • Crossley (Southport) vs Downie (Williamstown)
    • Seemingly the two best regarded VFL rucks over the past couple of years came up against each other this week
    • Crossley smashed Downie 48-17 in the hit-outs which surprised me given he's giving away 5cm
    • Crossley with 6 tackles (equal most on ground) but only 2 clearances as compared to Downie's 9
    • Disposals were 15-19 in Downie's favour so both were reasonably productive
How was crossley's tank?
Do we have 1 or 2 MSD?

Given Tim's form and Lachie Smiths development why would we take Crossley now and where would he play?

In Saying that I am not sure who is available that would improve our current team and depth developing so Getting Crossley may allow Smith more time to improve his forward Craft

Injuries always happen, The Bont, Adz, 2 star key fwds,LJones and we haven't missed a beat.
But I don't know if we have any redundancy with Timmy.
Do you think Lachie could step up?

Lachie is developing nicely but yeah still at least a year or two away from playing meaningful AFL games and not being overmatched, it's a huge step up.

If Tim was injured tomorrow, I think Bevo would start Lobb in the ruck, and next up might even be Gardner.

Footscray has made three changes for its Round 7 meeting with Casey at Mission Whitten Oval.

Senior-listed Bulldogs Josh Dolan and Jedd Busslinger have been added, as has Ted Middleton.

Busslinger has also been named as an emergency for the AFL clash against Gold Coast, alongside Oskar Baker and Arthur Jones.

Caleb Poulter and Harvey Gallagher have been selected for the AFL team, while Diesel Moloney has been omitted.

The inclusions mean up to 12 AFL-listed Bulldogs could feature on Saturday morning.

The first bounce will be at 11:05am AEST on Saturday 10 May, and be live streamed via the AFL website and AFL Live Official app.

They will also debut the 2025 First Nations guernseys designed by Kamilya Lowana White.
The VFLW Bulldogs will play at the same venue from 2:35pm, marking a Dogs’ double-header at Mission Whitten Oval.

Did I just hear that Sam Davidson's Mum works for Footscray? I may have heard incorrectly but they were definitely saying something about his Mum.
