The US Open looks dated as **** needs a face lift

They have the same issue we have- big names rather than best matches on big courts. Not helped by some US players falling off a cliff ie Tiafoe who are insanely popular there.

Yep it's why they are going after Tiley. The AO has become the best slam for players under him
Tiley will have some good ideas to improve US Open no doubt, though it will be much harder, the Victorian Government pours in a lot of money into the AO. as it's one of our bigger tourism events & economy boosters.

Agree, he's in that next lot with the Fonesca types. They probably realistically will need two more hardened seasons to be able to contend though. Theres a few Americans coming through actually. The one that would have beaten Sinner before the heat rule is another that looks good.

Spizzirri was very good against Sinner, used Sinner's pace to create good angles and baseline rallies. Actually didn't know how to adjust when Sinner cramped at started to play slower balls.

Tien I think was at another level this tournament and unlike Spizzirri who's 24, he's still very young at 19. I thought this stat was interesting given he has no big serve, yet.

I still have some big reservations on that serve, as it's got an eery feel of ADM style of quarters, then out. He does have more winners than Alex that's the positive but long term he needs to get more pop on that serve, has everything else it's the serve that is way too 'breakable' and when you realistically have to go through Carlos, Sinner and then you can add Shelton in as much as I can't stand the bloke, you can't be purely relying on breaking serve. That is my only slight query on him long term, is he more than a QF to semi type of player without a huge improvement on that side? He also relies a little too much on extending matches, you won't win Slams that way, you need to be smoking players in the first 3-4 rounds and saving energy for the latter stages.

Paying it means you do think it's worth it.
Not it doesn't. It means I want to go more than I don't. Simple as that. Not like I'd do it every year. Amd for the record the last time I went was in 2018 which as mentioned cost me 500 bucks.

Tiley gone to run the US Open

Good quality sauces tell me that Sam Groth will be the new AO Tournament Director while the business side of Tennis Australia will be farmed off to a new CEO

The legend of Craig Tiley so great that he needs two people to replace him

Sam Groth, okay hahahahha

Probably for the best to split the roles, doesn't tennis in general here in Aus need some work as far as pathways, talent becoming elite etc? There's no need for the same bloke trying to figure out a way to sell more ground passes doing the same job as that person.
Yep more needs to be done to grow tennis as a pathway in Aus

If Australia wants to have the best slam then we need to invest big time into developing home talent

Lots of Serbians live here open a Novak Academy
