You're lucky I'm not a mod, because I'd delete you faster than my browsing history after my wife is gone for the weekend for posting that garbage. šŸ˜‚

They sped up the presser to make him look more twingy. Integrity? Zero. Her biggest defense is "Well, West coast can win premierships, so why can't Freo?" To be that ignorant of the history differentiating the two clubs and the current landscape of the WAFL/AFL just shows her incompetence. She can get away with it because her audience, Victorians, don't know when she's spouting BS or truth because they are as ignorant as she is. That's literally the only reason she has a job. You can see the other blokes twitch and fidget when she goes off. They know too.

We all know.
Incognito mode is your friend :thumbsu:

The pile on from the Vics on JLo might not be a bad thing - channel it the right way and it can be an advantage. A bit of chip on the shoulder, the world’s against us sort of attitude within the four walls.
Agreed, Sir Alex used a siege mentality with his Manchester United players (back in ze day!) by suggesting the outside world hated them and expected them to fail because they were perceived as the best (paraphrasing really, but it was well documented). That kind of psychology.

I'm just not sure J-Lo has that style. Sir Alex came with that Glaswegian-edge. That hard-nosed, ruthless; but determined and tactically brilliant nous. I think J-Lo has good elements, but not at their peak powers, maybe?

But what do I know...

So. Scratch what happened.

"Round 1" starts at home, this week. Bag a good win, move on....build from there. Loadsa time to 'fix this'. It was just one game, and it was a rort the AFL sent them there 2 years in a row anyway with many expecting a loss (surprisingly, 'AFL experts' picked Freo 8-4 to win in their predictions segment..), but the performance wasn't as awful as 2025's. Clear aspects of it, such as the blistering first quarter and 8 goals were very good. What came next, maybe not so much.

But still....plenty o' time to fix it. Fix it all!

M. Cox, REALLY doing quite a fantastic job of making himself an easily likeable addition to the roster. Quality bloke

Always feel Cox has been a little hard done by when it comes to people's perception of him, yeah he's a little arrogant, but he's forged a pretty damn great career for himself, plus I want that sort of arrogance from our players.

He's a lot different to what I expected, I guess if we can learn anything, it's that our perceptions aren't always rooted in reality. It's okay to get it wrong, accept it and change.

Great pick up with hindsight now. Just his personality, his experience and his perspective alone is a massive addition to the growth of what still is a relatively young team. Could become really important.

I always felt he was a good pickup, he's a massive upgrade on Reidy. It's not often you have an AFL-calibre ruckman waiting in the wings as depth along with two elite ruckmen already in the side.

Interesting to hear about the admin and transfer of info; who was it I read about that left Essendon (I think) and they wouldn’t even let him take his boots, which were from a club sponsor? Different times!

what section is that in?
He spoke about that when he first arrived on day 1, after J. Clark made him bat when he walked through the door :tearsofjoy: A lot of admin stuff more so than he was used to.

I can find you a timestamp, but honestly the whole thing is worth listening to. Cox comes across as pretty clued up, intelligent and humourous. Honestly, it's an astute; brilliant pick up by the club, they've been doing so well in that department in latter years.

In this instance you could argue the lack of run comes from fatigue. Hello Opening round horse shit

But again if people like Clark, a good long kick, won’t bite off the risky one to open up the centre then we’re ****ed. That sort of play to O’Driscoll opens everything up.

That’s why I want Cooper Simpson playing every game. He takes those kicks.

Similarly Clark needs to take off and open that space for Serong to play on into so he can then run and kick to Treacy

Honestly this did my head in.

I went back and watched the last quarter and we probably bit off maybe 3-5 attacking kicks the whole quarter.

Everything else was short and wide or long down the line.

This part was very interesting :straining:

The AFL want to give the Northern States a leg up, so be it, but why give a team like Carlton a first week game ?. Do they need a leg up ?.

Caro logic, ........ not logical.
And don't forget that the Saints got a financial boost by playing the team with the most followers , and the richest club in the AFL.
A game where the crowd would have been at least75%, Pies supporters. Big money for the Saints.

Since when do we have "in demand" pricing turned on for home games?

$225 tickets in section 353

disgraceful IMO

No options or concessions/kids/families etc to buy these tickets too, anyone heard anything from the club about this?
At least the last 12 months.

That's in the premiership lounge, isn't it always that expensive?

Plenty of other seats remaining....

Premiership lounge is usually $130

They've got "in demand" settings turned on

It's not about the other seats, I've got a membership so I'm covered, I just go to alot of shows and am 100% against this practice, should be outlawed, it's scalping without a step
