Isnt the kruger family famous in basin land? I think brother max former captain if im not mistaken
Not sure if max was skipper but he won a league bnf. He’s cousins with lach.
Steve an mark are the dads who played lots of footy at the basin
Atleast 1 daughter playing netball there aswell

Nick Hallo did not play at Mitcham 2025.
Correct GMac, he was there in 24 and then went across to the WA Goldfields Comp. I know nothing of the league, what are the grounds like and what the playing standards are. Perhaps MortlockWatcher can give us a bit of information.

Steve and Mark are both club legends and most importantly terrific fellows.

Both played most of their footy at The Basin and very loyal to the club despite receiving many offers to play elsewhere over the years. Selfless and great clubmen who played important roles during successful periods.

Lachlan will probably miss some of the year and despite the postings on here, I can assure you the club is not offering high amounts of money to players, the club has focused on having former players return to the club to complement their developing list.

Things are looking promising as the club wants to build on the successful season. A lot of work to do to be competitive with clubs like Donvale, Knox and UFTG.

With 2 other Mitcham boys as well, disappointing to not have the 3 this season but you are only young once and good luck to the 3 boys that went over there and worked in the mines.

With the league there were only 5 teams in it and the bottom team was smashed every week.

I dont think the main issue at Bayswater is that they're losing players. I think the main issue is that they're losing players who have been at the club for a long time. That shows there is a lot of unrest at the club. This is a big issue, and not sure whether it's just a issue with the current coach or whether the whole committee is needing a shake up to get them back to a quality club. They've been irrelevant in regards to the ladder for a fair while now. My tip for relegation in division 1.

I do agree things are a bit off there, but isn't it also just natural attrition? Ben Searle played under 18s in 2010 for Bayswater, he's well over 30, the same with Galvin. Those guys time at Bayswater is or was coming to an end anyway.

But in saying that i think hes another great recruit for Fairpark, they were already super competitive in the 2nd half of this year in Div 3. They have lost some, their coach Allison and Byrne from their midfield. But throwing in Russ Cowan, Lunny from Balwyn and Darcy Church who played some really good senior football at North Ringwood, they clearly look the team to beat in Div 4.

I’m hearing theres a lot disgruntled players not happy with the harassment coming from one of the senior assistant coaches. Not sure of his name but he came from the basin and the club was warned strongly about him.
The disgruntled players and associated issues are far greater than an assistant coach who has told some individuals some home truths that may have been well overdue in some instances. He is not the only one delivering this message as this is coming from the senior coach and other influential members within the club.

There was a lot of unhappy people this year and relationships with the first year senior coach were not good. Many senior players have moved on (some chasing the dollar) and the loss of these 'heart and soul' players has upset many. I think the way both Galvin's were treated was an indicator on how things were internally and since then, the problems have continued and negatively impacted on the club in many ways.

Why the club decided to have Bianco and Brown attached to the club surprised many especially when it is unlikely they will play one game with the club and if they do will come at a significant cost which is money the club does not really have. It is a move of desperation according to my sources when they would have been better investing into the young players who are often frustrated by the lack of opportunities available and have been moving on to other clubs or giving the game away.

As has been mentioned, I think Bayswater is going to have a long 2026 and will certainly be in the bottom half of the ladder. Stay tuned for more departures I am informed.

Decent grounds, reasonable standard.

Mines Rovers, Railways and Boulder would be competitive with mid to lower Premier clubs or higher level Div 1 clubs. Kalgoorlie City would be mid to lower Div 1 or upper Div 2 level and Kambalda might be competitive in Div 3.
