Had a feeling that knowledge is still being used. Get him back
Neville was great.

He has a couple of critics on here but the decision to axe him 2007 was stupid at the time and remains so.

Final draft of Tarrant, Thompson, Grima, Greenwood with a preliminary finalists picks was more than solid.

He missed with a strong draft hand in 2000, made a real mess of the 2001 draft and the 2002 & 2003 draft's weren't much better.

I think his work in the 90's was top notch, he could find a diamond in the rough but he was hardly Stephen Wells.

Motlop, Harris, Petrie, Rocca, Pratt, Jones, Harding, Morrell and Teague was a miss? Take me back.

2000? sure Dylan Smith was a miss at 6, but Daniel Motlop, Drew Petrie and Daniel Harris weren't too bad

2001 I'll give you but reckon he did well in 2000 and 2002.

2003 was a wipeout for most clubs.

Hardly Stephen Wells?

David King, Boomer, LT, Cam Mooney, Aaron Davey, Byron Pickett, Spud etc etc.

yep valid, Haro was a solid citizen, Motlop had a good year or two but we did pass on Shaun Burgoyne at 12, Daniel Kerr at 18 and even dare it say it, Cornhole at 20. Petrie was a great pick.

2002 was a bunch of misses outside of Wells and big Hamish for 1 season, having said that it was a pretty poor draft.

2003 wasn't great with Trotter at 9 and Jones at 24 but again, pretty weak draft.

Perhaps I have conflated stuffing up the superdraft of 2001 with other years from that era.

I did say that Nifty could find a diamond in rough in the later picks though.

Haven’t been around these parts for a while, but tell you what, I’m looking forward to the day madrootermahoney comes out of their shell - way too nonchalant for my liking..

9 posts and a suspension is some sorta record.

DuckYeah are you upsetting the players family members again?..

Petrie and Pratt and to a lesser extent Rocca

But the rest were hot and cold week to week and as it turned out not capable of taking us deep into September

I surely CBF'd looking but I'm willing to gamble that if you go through Stephen Wells list of picks you'd probably be saying Stephen Wells was hardly Stephen Wells when you see some of the duds picked up. It's hardly an exact science and that's without the AFL changing rules on the fly post season for a couple of decades and fundamentally changing the games attributes along with it.

Harsh on the boy Jones I reckon. We could do with his like now.

How many premiership calibre players can you expect to take each draft? I think you're looking a gif horse in the mouth, Gaso.

Kissed on his old fella by a generational cluster of F/S draft picks and two single drafts where he nailed almost every pick.

Geelong now have the benefit of ‘culture’ (read: outside the cap payments and real estate investment opportunities) and FA’s wanting success the easy way to keep them up the top.

Some of their first round drafting is nightmare fuel.

Enright, Corey, Ling, Kelly, Bartel, Mackie, Chapman, Stevie J all picked within a couple of years of each other.
