Resumed today and looked completely underwhelming.

IMO, he needs to be moved to CHB for the rest of the season, and chop out Campbell on occasion.

Yeah, I'd give him a free pass for awhile.
Completely underdone, coming off OP. Of course he's going to struggle.

I'm not critical of a rusty first game, it's more related to his forward work. I reckon he needs a switch up in his development.

Some really poor citicisms in this thread. He had 5 ****ing centre clearances out of the teams 12 !

Busted his guts against two opposition ruckman, then had to run his guts out all over the ground to fill up holes because of the constant turnovers.

There's at least 15 in front of him that should be getting bagged.
Interesting stats, did not realise that. I personally find him nowhere near as effective as he should be. Super frustrating.

Been a good player but I find him really frustrating. The worst part of the whole game for me was when he didn’t even bother to go up in the ruck - Essendon got the clearance and then Bellchambers marked in the goalsquare while Goldy was on the 50. He also gets a lot of his possessions out near the boundary line. Was a really good player there for a couple of years but he has always been a little bit soft. I’m probably old fashioned but your ruckman should be big and tough and bowl over a heap of the opposition players instead of running out towards the boundary and getting easy possessions.

For some bizarre reason, many people are completely irrational when it comes to analysing this bloke.

It's because people still hold him to his standards of when he was a top 3 Ruckman in the league. He's still a valuable contributor.

People need to be more realistic with their analysis then spider.

Unbelievable ability to be so limp wristed that he can drop the ball to his toenails at the ball ups, not many grown men have this ability.

To be fair he just had an interview saying he wants a long term contract.

At the moment his output is not commensurate with his salary, that is a large reason that the expectation is high.

He did some good things on Friday but some very ordinary things too.

I thought his centre bounce ruckwork was shithouse and with the 6 6 6 rule that will kill us. There were times I thought he couldn't have done that better if he was actually playing for *. It was like he deliberately hit it away from our players to them. (I'm sure it wasn't the case it was just that he was so bad it seemed that way.)

Might not be our worst contrubtoir but his tap work isn't anywhere near what it once was, and whenever he gets involved around the ground he torches it more often then not.

Todd played really well. However, we lost. Like all players the mistakes are magnified. If we were winning, the “how many dicks has Goldy” thread would be very active.
