A huge suspended sentence is best for us but other clubs wouldn’t want to touch him

Unsure after last year any sentence would be suspended. I'm surprised he didn't have one hanging over him from then.

Why the * is this taking so long?

He either did it or he didn’t? The AFL need to do what they need to do so that we can all move on.
Suspect there would be some dialogue between the AFL and the club. Given we haven't officially stood Tarryn down this time, there is the possibility we ( the club) don't see eye to eye with the AFL on a suspension based on optics.

I agree, but if we are only offering a 1 year "prove it" deal like every other club he will explore his options.

We are far closer to his situation than anyone else and more likely to offer a longer deal.

Whatever has happened, the lack of transparency from the AFL about its process in investigating these types of complaints, then making a decision, and finally handing down a penalty has, and continues to be, very poor. They should be providing indicative timelines for starters.

Do you mean publicly?

Because they’ll never do that and nor should they.

As I said, they should set out what their procedures are for dealing with these types of complaints and make them public. Document who at the AFL (aside from the Integrity Unit) is involved in investigating the complaint, considering the evidence, making a judgement on the player's innocence or guilt and then handing down the penalty. State if there's an appeals process and what that involves. Advise the media how long each of these processes is likely to take.

That does not mean divulging the substantive details of each case.

I can’t see that ever happening. Media would be all over it like flys to sh!t and it would bring too much negativity to a club….particularly one like ours.

Judge Judy on the tele is the best you’ll get.

It's not about Thomas's particular case. It's about the AFL providing procedural fairness for players, coaches, employees etc - when complaints are made against them. That includes having a documented, standard set of processes which provide indicative timelines for a decision. Instead, the AFL run a murky process that just fuels speculation and does nothing to help clubs whatsoever.

Jaidyn Stephenson still has a 12-game suspended sentence for gambling hanging over his head and he seems reasonably well-paid.

What are the odds of TT getting a 12 week suspended sentence? :stern look

Meh, will wait and see what happens. I have been at the "Acceptance" stage of the Kubler-Ross scale of TT's Idiocy for some time now. I think once you write it off as a complete loss then shit can't get any worse.

That being said, I don't think people should break out the KKK outfit and the noose on the back of an accusation, as unlikely as it may be that he is innocent, even when you are accused of something... someone is innocent until proven guilty.

Yes, that ‘indicative timeline’ thing always works well…

I remember a time when i was 15, i was alone, school holidays, I was interested in seeing how many times I could in 24 hours.

Based on that bit of research I concluded: yes, yes you can over do it.

I think I actually had friction burns from memory
