YepSo heās not ābetterā, heās just playing a different role that makes his stats (the only way to judge a player) look better
Are you saying he's been 'good' all year, or he was still bad, just with more stats? So heās not ābetterā, heās just playing a different role that makes his stats (the only way to judge a player) look better
This is just an opinion because Iām not privy to what the coach is instructing players to do but I donāt think itās a switch thatās been flicked or a reaction to greater responsibility. After finally catching up with a replay of the game, Iām amazed that this bloke hasnāt been able to do this more often over the last 2 seasons. He was our best player and itās like he stepped up with the added responsibility. Of our best defensive 6 at the beginning of the year we are missing Reid, McKay, Ridley, and now McGrath who is midfield. Then Laverde goes down mid game leaving a defensive unit with only Redman having any genuine experience - first and second year players all around him (and Prior still finding his feet). He is a very talented footballer who seems to fire only when a switch is flicked which seemed to be the case in the weekend.

Thereās that. But I also think you could see him getting into the holes more, backing his judgment to interject in opposition forward thrusts, and becoming the proactive defender. He seemed to take on an all-encompassing role when Lav went off which is what impressed me. The flick, in a sense, was the inevitable requirement for him to step up and take the responsibility as the senior figure. This is just an opinion because Iām not privy to what the coach is instructing players to do but I donāt think itās a switch thatās been flicked or a reaction to greater responsibility.
I think our preferred outlet from defense (rightly or wrongly) is McGrath and with him playing midfield the ball is now going through Redman more. Or maybe itās the other way around and Redman is preferred as our medium defensive stopper but the absence of McGrath from the backline means heās being pushed into a more counterattacking role.
i get it - remember when Call Me Cake got banned and DERO was on holiday? your posting for that week was amazing, like you stepped up to fill the gap they had leftThereās that. I am indeed the Red Dog of this board. I was only able to hit those goals on the run from outside 50 though due to the intuitive dish-offs you gave me coz you knew you couldnāt make the distance.i get it - remember when Call Me Cake got banned and DERO was on holiday? your posting for that week was amazing, like you stepped up to fill the gap they had left

He didn't look right. I wonder if he went into the game with the ankle issue. This guy was insipid tonight.
After he first hurt his ankle I thought I heard them say he went off to get it re-strapped, so I assumed maybe he was playing with a slight niggle. I could be wrong though. He got injured during the game did he not?
Got knocked about a few times but played the game out. The ankle is the more concerning of the bumps and bruises though, I thinkHe got injured during the game did he not?
And fair enough too. Gets a glimpse into the mindset of the players.Great article. Redman is pissed at Zach.

It's interesting when you consider every bit of that would have been vetted by the club, if not given to him line by line to read out.Great article. Redman is pissed at Zach.

Not necessarily (itās Twomey after all, and itās the off-season so players are incommunicado with the club beyond informing them of their location for ASADA purposes)ā¦It's interesting when you consider every bit of that would have been vetted by the club, if not given to him line by line to read out.
