"It is unknown if Redman was aware of the approach" 100% was not Redman wanting out but they'll label it as suchI mean did anyone read the article?
It read as though his management was called by other clubs to sound out his availability?
Trying to create a narrative that Redman is somehow contradicting himself is ridiculous

He sounds like Sam Mitchell.I don’t know how many times I need to say it. Merrett is not well liked within the playing group, doesn’t have many friends, and has an inability to connect with a vast majority of the playing group. That doesn’t take anything away from him as a player or a lead by example type. But outside that he’s moreorless an individual
That’s what it looks like. Merrett annoyed at Redman’s statement and going “yeah well he did it too”Merrett camp leaking info?
Footy journalism is the absolute bottom of the barrel. Outside of Cal Twomey, the rest are just racing to the headline with no integrity whatsoever.
How would the Merrett camp even be aware of it if Redman wasn't?So Morris is saying this happened earlier in the year, Edmund saying that it happened recently but they are unsure if Redman was even aware of it.
Merrett camp leaking info?
Collingwood is the same. It was a joke on that Coodabeens segment but if they can fit Collingwood in the headline somehow they get a way bigger audienceEssendon generates clicks; either you support EFC, or you love to revel in EFC being down.
Way more fun to stick the boot in to EFC whether it's factual or not than write about something dull like North being shit and trading their F1 away so have no draft currency.
That's sports "journalism" in general these days.Footy journalism is the absolute bottom of the barrel. Outside of Cal Twomey, the rest are just racing to the headline with no integrity whatsoever.
Gotta make themselves relevant somehow. Print journalism is dying, getting clicks is the only way they can make sure their job is safe.Footy journalism is the absolute bottom of the barrel. Outside of Cal Twomey, the rest are just racing to the headline with no integrity whatsoever.
Tom Morris’s version seemed to indicate that Redman wanted out earlier in the year, which Merrett would be aware of (if that’s true). How would the Merrett camp even be aware of it if Redman wasn't?
When was the last time Sam Edmund actually had a proper scoop and got a story right? If everTom Morris’s version seemed to indicate that Redman wanted out earlier in the year, which Merrett would be aware of (if that’s true).
Edmund saying it was a recent approach

The one from Edmund was harmless. No it read like Redmans agent sounded out some clubs, potentially without consulting Redman first.
If Merrett knew about Redman weighing up a trade request and encouraged him to stay and recommit to the club because that's what leaders do, then that would explain Redman wanting to speak about Merrett now sniffing around Hawthorn anyway. You'd be pissed tooThe one from Edmund was harmless.
The one from Morris, which indicated Redman was weighing up a trade request earlier this year, appears spiteful. And my guess would be a leak from the Merrett camp as they seem to be speaking regularly to Morris.
