Welcome to the AFL El-Hawli? Roberts?
it could be hayes - do either of them offer the defensive intercepting/marking that reddog provides?

will be an interesting selection.

ā€œ Went for a scan on a troublesome hamstring complaint and faces a test this weekā€ - according to Ch 7 News. Bugger!

Can't see them taking any risks with him. Have a bye and then WC in Melb ahead.

Could be chance for Roberts I guess. Will ensure Martin stays at HBF too which is annoying.

Hamstring strain

I'm obviously not cut out to be an AFL medico.

When a guy comes to me saying he's got some discomfort in the hamstring, I'd get it scanned at that point. If it returns nothing then let him play. Why wait a couple of weeks and a couple of games before getting it scanned?

Is it possible he didn't mention it to anyone until Sunday?
Yes. And if that's the case he should get a strong talking to for potentially putting himself ahead of the team. Bad luck if he snaps his sore hammy in q1 and puts himself out of action for a month or more.

Yeah very possible and might makes sense. Strain now and they've asked more when did you first feel it etc, but disappointing if he wasn't up front about it.

I suspect given the running demands and the physical contact most players are playing with some level of discomfort most of the time. Could be hard to differentiate between 'I'm sore from a tough game' and 'I'm sore and it's not going away' for a period of time.
