Standout

Round 15, 2018 (versus GWS Giants): So many games to choose from. I'm going to go with his round 15 performance against the Giants. With 50 disposals and 13 tackles, Mitchell came so close to dragging the Hawks across the line.

Shocker

Round 8, 2018 (versus Sydney Swans): It wasn't often this season that Mitchell had a quiet game, but he certainly had one against the Swans in round 8 at the MCG. The Swans tagged Mitchell right from the get-go and he was unable the shake the tag. Could things have turned out differently had Mitchell been able to find some space? In an 8 point loss to the Swans, one suspects that this might have been the case.

Had an okay year i spose...

One of the best two way midfielders in the game, not often the star mid's worth hard both ways like Tom does. Went to a whole new level this year and still has more growth for improvement in him.

His first game against the Cats was the highlight for me, all the hype around 'the holy trinity' and he absolutely schools them and leads us to a win against the cats!

Really needs to lift for next season.
His 35.3 disposals a game aren't useful and just clog up time.
Terrible player :drunk:

What a season by Tom
Shame he did the AC hopefully he's fully recovered for preseason
I did an grade 3 AC tear (complete separation of collarbone and shoulder joint) and was back playing basketball in 2 weeks and football in 5. Started training about 2 weeks in with just running and then ball work for a bit before I could do any contact stuff.

Shouldn't effect his pre-season at all as usually their is no contact stuff until it comes close to game time.

You know you're ****ing good when the only knock they find on you is that you get the ball too much :$

One of the great seasons by a Hawthorn footballer.

Truly as good an advertisement for the club as you can get. Come to this footy club and we will get you playing the best footy you possibly can. He came to the club as a talented ball winner and within 2 years is a top 10 player in the competition and a Brownlow medalist.

In his prime now, he can still add to his game by being more dangerous going forward. Working with Sam Mitchell will also be a great opportunity to learn some new tricks and if we land our reported trades, he will be leading a much stronger midfield group next year.

There's not much more Tom could've done to help win us games and many weeks played a lone hand in the midfield. He seemed more poised with ball in hand this year and was less reluctant to kick, supplied more run & carry, kicked more goals, and overall it felt like he was more settled into our system than last year.

His season was superb by anyone's standards and he's given us a shining light the younger guys like Worpel & Morrison can aspire to emulate.

Got more dangerous, linked better with his other midfielders, kicked more goals.

Can't wait to see him work with Sam.
when he first arrived at the hawks, Tom lamented Sam going the other way and missing out on playing together - I can’t wait to see what Sam can do with Tom.

Will be interesting to see how his game evolves with Chad and Scully in the midfield.

I think another quality winger/outside player in Scully will make him that much more effective, or 'damaging.' Suddenly his clearances are potentially getting out to two elite wingers on the outside, so teams will have to be very wary of that.

I'm really keen on seeing how he will work with Wingard around the stoppages. I think that again Mitchell suddenly becomes more damaging having a player like Wingard around him at stoppages.
