I think this is more related to a few of the collisions he has had in recent weeks. There where a couple of contests that resulted in awkward landings on Saturday.

I knew he looked a bit sore but I thought it was ribs/upper body. Pretty surprised to see him ruled out with a groin injury. And given our inability to manage soft tissue injuries, I'm a tad concerned.

Same, Groundhog Day - the norm is our prime talents lose their athleticism and become a shadow of their previous selves. Seems innocuous enough to begin, a little hamstring awareness or strain then rapidly downhill from there to the point a "light training session" becomes a source of multiple soft tissue injuries. Is there even an exception over the past 10 years we have had someone with talent that hasn't had their athletic power eviscerated?

What Scott said in his presser about Caddy was mind boggling and worrying, and makes me very scared about how we constantly mis manage players. Saying he’s rehabbing the injury with an eye on trying to get him back, and we need players to be playing because of our injury crisis, and then on the other hand saying he’ll make a full recovery prior to Christmas. If he has anything soreness of the groin area, you shut him down straight away my god what are we doing. Who gives an f about the next 3 games you do not put an asset like caddy in any extra risk of doing more damage. And saying playing him won’t affect his rehab, my god, what on earth is going on down there.

All true - but what I've highlited... take zero solace in literally anything said during press conferences. Coaches would very happily not do them - they've just gotta say something.

You're probably right, he could have simply said "We won't take any risks with him in these last few games." That might've been easier/better. All I'm saying is I would make no judgements or take anything out of how we're supposedly handling his rehab based on what is said in a press conference.

Have you watched the presser?
