With every cracking game up forward I honestly don’t know whether I’m happy or furious.

Yep, Everyone knew he was a natural forward but the club tried to cover up for recruiting mistakes. Stupidest decision ever.

Just needed to recruit a natural big bodied bloody midfielder.

Wright is doing plenty of running, that’s not the issue.

They’re still obviously developing as a combo but in the last month I could count dozens of occasions where Wright or Langford had a 1 on 1 and the other came to the ball which also meant his man came to the ball and made it a pack situation, or they both ran back to goal or up at the ball when one needed to come up and the other to hold to stretch out the defense.

Massive contributing factor to why we lost to Sydney, there was a high ball that both of them just looked at that Wright ended up fumbling because they didn’t communicate and there was a 2v1 that resulted in a McCartin intercept because they both lead to the same spot and the kicker had to oblige.

Langford in particular when he gets on a roll he just flys for everything, which is not necessarily always the best thing to do, especially given how good he is on the deck.

Also, last play of the game, they separated, Wright got a 1 on 1, Langford made his man make a choice and it resulted in the winning goal.

I feel sorry for Langford. We have wasted 7 years on him in the wrong position. We all knew it but the coaches didn’t.

I’d argue that it’s made him a more rounded player. If we’re playing a grand final and we need someone to slot in to midfield or cover an injured Ridley you know who they are going to be able to call upon. Don’t think so negatively about this. Sure, we could have had better recruiting to develop a big bodied mid instead of Kyle but I for one am happy he plied his trade as a mid in the VFL for weeks on end and also developed the tools to be a defender. Hopefully it holds us in good stead. It doesn’t seem to have affected his ability to now become the forward we hoped he’d be. It’s not like it’s cost us a premiership, right?

yeah but id argue our delivery to wright inside 50 doesnt help him.

The number of times we kick the ball on top of his head is astounding.

I've said it before, I think he'll go straight into coaching post footy, every time I listen to him talk about the game he sounds like an analytical guy, we've already heard that he's a student of the game and watches a lot of vision during the week, exciting future for him.

If they spread well we could be very potent and free up 2MP. Add Stringer & Menzie and that is hard to match up on.

Yeah, Langers and Perkins forward is a great combo. Both know how to lead and mark the ball (and great kicks).
