I was very surprised to see him down back as I don't really think it takes advantage of his strengths. Did he play there much during pre-season?

Was very shaky but built into the game well. One of our best in the 2nd half.

Should keep him back there I reckon.

Hit up some nice passes. Could be very valuable in that role.

Not sold on his defending ability he gave away 3 free kicks inside D50 and lucky not to give away a 4th against wingard. Doesn’t have acceleration to chase/pressure the opposition. Is a nice kick though

Was good but most are when they go down back, still think hes a winger because he can impact both ends

Seems that KL was starting on the wing and then sliding back to support the back 6 with Heppell, Setterfield or Archie rolling up from half forward into the midfield group.

He’s got a few things to learn about handover and keeping his head on a swivel but I don’t mind it, he’s a great user and a nice outlet with his overhead marking. An important player.

It was a rough start, but his disposal and decision making by foot was a real asset back there. I definitely think he's worth giving some time to see if he adjusts and learns to defend better.

Im all for the offensive stuff but a defender generally needs to be able to, defend


work in progress and hopefully he can build on round 1 but the signs were certainly positive after quarter time

More paramount to that is understanding where to be, the one one one stuff I can take or leave.

The hope will be the same reading of the play that allows him to bob up in space in the forward line and find the ball on the lead will allow him to be proactive and come up at the footy.

He looked a bit lost with the 360 degree aspect at times.

Can he play the Gunston role or connector (ala Tom Lynch ADE).

It's not an area we struggle in but he'd make a great intercepting half back and set up with his foot skills.

Need to see him cement a position in 23.

Didn't see the game today but his goal kicking action is text book. Often his shots at goal are from more difficult positions and you can draw a straight line from him to the goal umpire - one of the straightest kicks of the footy I have seen.
