I'd be interested to know where the AFL sees its own duty of care to protect a players' wellbeing starts. This bloke was personally abusive to Langers without abusing him, but did enough to humiliate, but Langford can't do anything in response to maintain his own dignity? They might have said kicking the goal was enough, and it probably was, but Kris was also a jerk. At some point the AFL has to be responsible for regulating and managing crowd behaviour. I don't think Kris' behaviour deserved him being ejected, but I'm interested to know where it begins to be seen as anti-social and ejection-worthy. Vilification I'm guessing.

Anti-social is pretty strictly defined at the MCG I think, they remove people from the area (not sure if the whole ground) just for aggressive swearing that falls on the side of abuse, let alone gesturing like that

It's not that I think they should or shouldn't, but I wouldn't have been at all surprised if security had tapped him on the shoulder. I've seen them do the same for less

Totally get that we've been stretched at times this year with injuries and a lack of ready to play key defenders. But moving him to defence makes two areas of the ground worse for us. Let him stay forward, Brad.

Ask a defender you already have to play a role, and for their teammates to help them out. Play Baldwin/Reid, use a ruckman as a spare behind the ball more. Plenty of other things you can try.

Move Weideman (or anyone else apart from Stringer) back, or include someone else in the side who can play/swing back - try literally anything else. Langford has been insanely effective forward; it's way easier to cover his absence in the backline than his absence in the forwardline. Completely bizarre to move him out when it's generally so difficult to get chances up forward and he makes it looks so easy.

Taking Kyle out of the forward line is like robbing Peter only to lose it all on the way to Paul, who then beats us severely for unpaid debts.

Once it became clear inside mid wasn't his go, really smart utility who could be relied on pretty much anywhere else on the ground was his destiny.

There was at least 1 false dawn and then injury hit but I think he's finally there.
