Spoke really well last night I thought.

Also, similar to Mason, really heaped praise on Brad for how clear his messaging is and how good a place the club is to be at at the moment.

I'm sure not throwing shade at Truck by any means, but the more you hear players heaping praise on the current direction etc, really makes you wonder how much of a dumpster fire last year was!

You can't read too much into it, when Truck took over from Worsfold they were saying the same thing.

Truck is part of the history of the club along with all the other coaches of the last 150 years.

He brought value on and off field and represented an improvement on a soft, unprofessional, soulless football club.

Saved a couple of blokes careers by trying them in different positions, got them back in touch with the history of the club, started them on the road to honouring that inside the four walls, which seems to be something Scott has kept and built on.

We seem to be largely using his 2021 gameplan as a foundation stone for 2023 too.

And he did genuinely seem like good people and was likeable and liked by the players. Just inexperienced and perhaps a bit young for this group, blind leading the blind, and under-resourced.

There are a couple of things Scott is clearly better at, being concise communication and apparently as a game analyst and tactician, but they’re things Truck will learn eventually, and which Brad didn’t have first time round either.

So I wouldn’t really frame it as perennial fluff or a comparison that denigrates the predecessor, so much as evidence of buy in and perhaps a better fit.

Current version of Langers is the best I've seen him but without Wright there it's hard to say how much is by design and how much is fate.

Wright out obviously gives Langford the space to move and be found. When Wright returns it will be interesting to see what the flow-on effect for Langers is.

The other side of this is that the back 6 is currently doing a solid job, and I'd be loathe to send him back there anyway given how well he's playing forward. This conundrum only gets more intense the longer he plays forward and the more he kills it.

Maybe he is destined to just make way when Wright returns and be cast as the utility player Scott described a few weeks ago.

To me the player that misses out is probably stringer. Langford is doing great as the 3rd tall. No need to change that up. Just shift jake to the bench as an impact player

I'm trying to see what Scott does, but that's probably not a bad way to prolong Jake's effectiveness. I wonder if we then don't become reliant on Stringer having impact moments in the 3rd and 4th quarters.

If Draper becomes your R/F who starts forward as KPF2 you could have Wright/Draper as F1/2

Then have Flip and Stringer rotate. Flip to bench, Draper to ruck, stringer to F2

Other than kicking goals, he's an absolute liability out there once there's finals intensity.

Poster boy of our last 20 years.
Kelvin mate, there are 21 other players to jump on after this loss before you get to Langers

Sheesh
