. If anyone picked that at the start of the year they are a genius. I keep thinking it’s an imposter especially when he’s spoiling the ball like a 10 year defender. That just wasn’t in his repertoire before.
Problem was I had Heppell taking his place . Anyway good to see him playing to his potential. We have only wasted 5 years of his career.

I thought he was going to be trade bait!Another good call by me during the pre season. Not in the best 22 . Yep.

I've never thought he is a slow decision maker, what I've often thought is that we've been so poorly setup that there are no obvious good choices and he hates to waste the ball. The combination has made him look slow IMO.The thing for me is he was such slow decision maker. I just haven’t seen that this year. Looks like he is playing of pure instinct and most times it’s going his way.
That’s a fair point he definitely held onto the ball a lot opposed to moving it in the past. It’s hard to see a lot of setups on the TV.I've never thought he is a slow decision maker, what I've often thought is that we've been so poorly setup that there are no obvious good choices and he hates to waste the ball. Don't get me wrong, at some point many times he should have just made a decision. However what I like about him is he wants each disposal to be damaging and often I'd see we hadn't spread or kept distance around the contest to provide good options, or no one was leading. In these instances he'd sometimes get caught with it but in all honesty I'd prefer that defensively than handing it over for a quick turnover because it gives your team more time to run back and setup. That’s a fair point he definitely held onto the ball a lot opposed to moving it in the past. His improvement this year is solely 100% attributed to the mo. We should start a petition for the whole team to start growing them.

that play for me was all about backing his footy nousThe biggest thing for me is that Langford has confidence in his size now.
He's absolutely bullying players in 2023, which is what he needs to do, he's not blessed with amazing agility, but he's great on the lead and can repeat sprint all day. He's become a strange Dane Swan and Jack Gunston hybrid.
Watching him blast May and kick that goal in the wet says to me we are getting something right at the club.
Players like Wright and Langford who (when younger) have had knocks on their physicality improved in HUGE strides with their confidence in their body.
This makes me think that Weideman could do the same thing.
I'll admit, I always knew he had the goal accuracy, and I knew he was efficient by foot.that play for me was all about backing his footy nous
Have always said he's one of the more talented ball users in the side and across the league, and we're seeing it.
What he has now is a bit of confidence to just do what he sees can be done.
Hopefully he shirt fronts WhateleyHe is a guest on AFL 360 Plus tonight
