We may have overpaid for him but we need players that will have an impact straight away and he is one that will so I understand why we got him.
I wasn't overly thrilled, but on reflection it probably isnt what we paid for him in isolation. Its the numerous other wasted picks in the range in recent years Fisher, Cat Stephens and Steak Knives Tucker. Yet still McDonald is running around!! We've thrown a hell of a lot of resources at getting a mature body to provide some attacking run.

The reports were that we didn't stand our ground on anything. The second was put up straight away and the Dogs were allegedly the ones holding their ground.
So the dogs were holding firm for our first round (pick 2)?
Unless they were after a player, I can’t see what we would have been able to offer that was better than our second rounder…

Very true Roostar. Hard to disagree with that

Tucker was traded for picks that we were given for free and had to trade. Didn't really cost us anything.

I think we paid way too much. but he played well.
His composure with ball kind of stands out in our backline....
It’s what should be expected at AFL level.

The way it stands out is an indictment on the rest of the plebs back there.

My goodness he had been important. Already.

When he has the ball he makes me feel safe and assured that he'll use it well. Surely that translates to the rest of the team.

You can't put a price on that. A speculative draft pick in the 20s is now looking like unders, for the value he brings. Still only 28 years old.

Well done, Brady, and whoever else, for bringing him in.

I knew what this guy would bring and I'm very excited.
He'll be very important for us these next few seasons.

Also a really nice guy too. Met him at the QLD supporters group camp.

Come see me after season when we have no first round pick.
We only have about 15 or maybe even more of them on the list.
It'll only hurt if there's a particularly good key or small forward available at our pick.
We don't need more mids. If the midfield isn't working the way we want it to, it's not a personnel issue.

Can always package our 2 early seconds to move up. Or trade our 26 or 27 first round pick to get back in and have 3 picks inside 25.

He was steak knives as i said, hard to say the exact cost because of that but there would've been some value attributed to him.

To be fair none of the 3 are the worst to play AFL, they all do nice things at times, but Cat and Tucker frustrate me with weakness over or under the ball often and Fisher is insanely one sided

I swear most of the handballs to him were to his feet😭
LOL.. i noticed that too BUT it doesn’t matter because he’s that close to the ground he hardly has to bend down to pick it up, he picks it up off his boot laces clean. He’s even making others look better.

Then when he gives a handball, he fires it with thrust booster, it smacks em in the chest, would knock over a stationary baily scott
