I can’t see how anyone can objectively rate Daniel higher than I have. Plus, he is the biggest defensive liability from that list by the length of the Flemington straight.

If you don’t think his position needs a significant upgrade, you don’t football.

… and he cost us a top 3 draft pick😏

Really? I thought it was Pick 25.

Really? I thought it was Pick 25.
For all intensive purposes (sic), it was a top 3 pick, but that's assuming we stay shitter than St Kilda and some others.

Pick 25 for Daniel
Future first for Whitlock (picked around 25, essentially neutralising the expenditure on the Daniel transaction)

So then it looks like:
We got Whitlock with our second rounder
We turfed our future first for Daniel

Thats bending reality. Traded for Daniel before the draft. We didn’t trade our future first to the dogs. So its a bunch of nuffy wank justifications

And you are not getting any of them for pick 25 which ends up being pick ~40. Maybe Zorko as he’s a **** head and his time is finished. I’d have Daniel ahead of Zorko right now

LOL the guy got coaches votes literally 2 games ago and you want him dropped...Jesus

At this point, this is my preferred back 6 when everyone is fit and healthy.

Archer - Logue - LMac

FOS - Comben - Hardeman

Bench - Pink

Future - Goater? Whitlock?

For me, this gives us the best combination of defense first players who can also provide the rebound necessary.

I think Daniel needs to find a different role.

FOS is a better wing

Very solid game. Won’t feature in any of the voting but played his part well whilst dealing with the Cincotta close checking. Freed up Kerch to do the line breaking.
Looking much better now that we aren't expecting or needing him to be able to break open every game from half back single handedly.

I’m sorry but he is a defensive liability. The truth is staring you all in the face. :stern look
He's always been a defensive liability - even at the Dogs. He wasn't any taller, any stronger or faster there - yet he was an AA and had multiple top 4 B&F finishes in a gun side.

What stares me in the face is his impact in transition and his willingness to take it on.

Kerch, Hardeman, and FOS have really improved our movement out of the back line.
So what does Daniel provide exactly?

This is a typical example of Daniel’s play, ball is marked at CHB Daniel runs behind to receive a 2m handball, travels 5m sideways (tacking 10 steps) and then kicks it 14.9m sideways to a teammate on the boundary. Or he kicks a 35m rainbow bomb down field to a pack.

The only thing he does well is gather loose balls in the D50 where he does have sure hands and generally finds a good option with a handball.

The rest of his disposals come from kick-ins with average results.

As mentioned ahove, our best transition out of defence is coming from Kerch, Hardeman and FOS. So what is Daniel there for? He’s just taking it out of the hands of our play makers.

What’s the story with Pick 25 and Daniel?

Did that have anything to do with Whitlock?

Cos he’s ok?

I heard someone say this cost is Pick 2 or something?
Yes on current ladder positioning he cost us pick 3, the Bullies would be extremely happy about that. But I think they must have traded it to the Tigers - ouch! As that pick sits with them.
We traded pick 25 to the Bullies for Dinkers-Daniel.

So on draft night we couldn't believe Whitlock was still on the boards, so we traded our future F1 to the tigers for Whitlock and their future 2nd.

Some nut started this rubbish that Daniel cost us pick 3, he didn't at all. The 2 events are unrelated.

I think I heard what you mean... was some clown trying to explain to the world (with too much success for my drivers side window which I gave 1 to go on with) that Daniel somehow cost us 2026 R1. Yet, of course MWhitlock was picked with a later pick than our natural 25.

It pissed me off, I was muttering to myself for some time.
