When you have ex-Doggy supporters expressing how far he has fallen + The media, then it’s not just us punters on the BF board who think he is a bad trade and recruit.

He would be the least effective +25 (average per match) disposal player in the competition. Some of his defense lowlights below.
How does he have a number above zero for spoils? Did I miss a game we played against Leprechauns?

It's nice to avoid clangers, but that isn't really the best way to judge these players' performance. Their job is to transition the ball out of defense so their team can score. It is an attacking role. Have a look at all stats related to that and you will see how far Caleb is behind Nas and Zorko. Metres gained, score involvements, goals, kick threat rating: he isn't in the ballpark.

As far as ball retention goes, he isn't that great either. Whilst he has slightly more disposals per turnover, that is only because he isn't taking the game on with his kicking, his retention rating is actually worse.

This all confirms the eye test. When Nas or Zorko get it they take off forwards and try to get through and out the back of the defense. When Caleb gets the ball, he props, looks around, scuttles sideways, chips backwards. It just lets the opposition set up their zone and we get trapped.
Caleb is running 21st on metres gained, sandwiched between Jordan Clark and Miles Bergman who are arguably both all-Australian - he is ahead of Jake Bowey who plays a similar role.

I am not saying he is having the best year ever and when at times he has tried to force which has resulted in some poor turnovers but he isn't going as bad as some would have you believe.

funny one - I guess I don't get off on abusing our own, especially with no factual evidence to back it up.

As long as you are happy though champ.
lol you champing me tells me everything I need to know about you as a person

Blind Freddy could tell you he’s not working for us

A standard performance appraisal form for employees in most organizations is something like this. Caleb performance this year is:

  1. Extremely unsatisfactory.
  2. Needs improvement.
  3. Doing his job.
  4. Slightly exceeds expectations.
  5. Greatly exceeds expectations.
I loaded his 2025 stats into ChatGPT and said give me an image to describe his performance 😎

jurassic park deal with it GIF

Those guys don't get anywhere near the number of kick-ins that Caleb does - nobody does. Considering this, and his role, and how often the ball is in our defense, he should be ahead of everyone. Instead he is 21st in an 18 team competition. He is going much worse than you would have us believe.

Caleb has the most kicks in the league from playing on from kick outs.

It makes up 35% of his total kicks.

Can’t fathom what capital we gave up to get him because Brady is such a doormat. Remember Caleb never requested a trade either and maybe never really wanted to come here

Issue is Clarko will never ever drop him? Because when Archer comes back I’d love for him to replace him
It did feel odd at the time that CD never stated his wish to come here. Kind of how he plays. Sort of, nearly, not bad.

When is the members Q & A for the recruiters and list managers? Or will we not bother this year seeing as Scott Clayton is leaving and won't be able to spruik Matt McGuiness' prowess as the next Peter Mann?
They control the narrative in this sh!t anyway, with the filtering of questions.
A seriously dumb trade that showed our bloke(s) have zero ability to negotiate. But let’s continue on same path.

Worse than that - he left the decision to come to us until the last minute and left us with no leverage with the Dogs. He looked after his old club to the max hence we coughed up an early second rounder.

I tried to play AFLS as a midget, I was more your hit up CHF, but yeah it's a tough gig.

WTFWWT- Whoever made the call should get the arse. Geebus, was never Archers biggest fan, but yeah can't wait. How far off is Goater.

We get Goater, Archer, Whitlock, Comben, Hardeman etc. Blardy Daniel nee Dinkers goose is cooked, or is that quail?

To those defending him. What is his elite skill? I can’t think of 1. Even Lmac for his failings his courage and attack on the ball are elite. Caleb I don’t really see anything that stands out.

He fumbles less than any other North player.

He’s technically a great kick.

I think it’s clear that the role being asked of him isn’t playing to his strengths though.

Since about round four I’ve been hoping they’d diversify his role to play small forward and link up upfield.
