I mostly blame Clarko for this one, he wanted Daniel and persisted with him despite it being obvious early on that Daniel couldn't perform the role he was recruited for. This sort of thing happens too much at our club. Nobody has the courage to acknowledge even the most blatant of list management blunders and we just double down on stupid.

Collingwood actually did the opposite of this.

They kept the ball low and chaotic and sliced them up with fast and precision ball movement from their brigade of smalls.

The only time we see Fast and Precision at our club is when Rawlings is at the printer with a 4 year contract. On the front page he just has player: To whom it may concern

Maybe they should have judged him on how well he played his role as a rebounding defender. Sadly he proved unable to break lines with either his run or kicking and ended up settling for sideways ball retention instead. That would be fine if he was beating his opponent, but he never had one and got brushed aside in every contest.
