But how about his Pressure Acts RF08?![]()
I canāt even wrap my head around how those stats work. How can you have pressure acts when you arenāt within 20m of any opposition player?

A gubber along the ground to perceived advantage is considered an effective disposal.Gee those are weird stats vs what we see in the game.
Pressure acts are a weird one. Does he get one for looking like heās putting pressure on while his opponent doesnāt appear to notice?

There's some leeway there though. If it's visibly to the advantage of a defender, the kick will be classed as ineffective, even if the mark technically counts as contestedEven a kick to a contest is
Playing him at half back is like gifting the opposition an extra man in their forward line.
To balance up our defence Iād prefer if he played on a wing and just pushed back hard to set up plays. At least that way our defence wouldnāt be out gunned every week and we could have an actual defender down there
We focused on a dominant midfield that gets smashed week in week out. Powell and Phillips will never be part of a premiership modfield. Our wings are dire, but this wouldn't improve it. Any chance we can get a winger who can slide and give some aerial help? You know, modern winger stuff?
Fair dinkum mind blowing we have no backline, no small forwards, no 2nd tall forward and no wingers.
Yes. He's so good your mob dropped him permanently for a Hawthorn reject.Butting in for a second is not to disagree with your assessments of his form so far but to say that a lot of Daniel's best games with us have been in late-season games, often night games or wet games where the quality of the game becomes a bit of a shitfest. He has worked his way into the season and stood out when players from both teams are playing poorly. It'll get better from here. His ability to read the play and his ability to be a clean one-touch player with the ball on the deck.
When the weather gets colder, scores become lower, matches are less clean, players are tired travelling to Tasmania/Perth/Canberra I think you'll see why you went out and recruited him.
Put himself under pressure almost every time he got the ball. I'd say that's the best explanation.I canāt even wrap my head around how those stats work. How can you have pressure acts when you arenāt within 20m of any opposition player?
It was in the recruiting notes - Late season cold weather specialistButting in for a second is not to disagree with your assessments of his form so far but to say that a lot of Daniel's best games with us have been in late-season games, often night games or wet games where the quality of the game becomes a bit of a shitfest. Happy for Daniel to drop a dozen eggs on my face if this eventuates sometime this year. This is a key point though.Rawlings bent over to Clarksonās demands.
Heās a soft****.
He started as a high half forward and the dogs tried him in this role again last year. I think it's probably the best option for him, he would be asset kicking inside fifty. The obvious issues with that are his lack of pace and defensive pressure, these are going to be a problem wherever he is on the ground. Timid, slow, short players really aren't very useful.Does he need to play in the backline?
Canāt he play forward?
Phillips at half back? Oh gees. You couldnāt honestly tell me this bloke is doing a better job than Will Phillips is capable of doing in the same role?
There is enough sample size now to reveal that Clarkson's recruiting hasn't been great for a decade. This is a key point though.
As much as it's fun to pot Rawlings (with some justification) this is probably a governance issue.
The root issue is giving the coach final say on recruitment decisions. I'm guessing Thursfield was shouting 'walk away based on what we heard.
The question is what we do from here? Does the senior coach retain final approval/veto hoping his gut feel pays off on one - or do you bump up the list manager etc as equal ranking voters?
Clean disposal and can lay a tackle.Phillips at half back? Oh gees.
Too slow for half backClean disposal and can lay a tackle.
