Our social media team has lost the plot, they misread the room so often. Ridiculous to use a bullseye for Daniel given the number of sprayed kicks and turnovers he produces for us on a weekly basis.
Most in the outer north supporters probably think he's going fine. So social media posts will go fine.

It's only a tiny subset of us tragic enough to analyse his real output.

Nostradamus must be having really mixed feelings tonight. He’s been calling for the third tall to be added up forward since the start of the season… tick. However, his “favourite son”, Bailey, has snuck back into the lineup to haunt him again. 🤣

That and bobby dazzler ready to pen an extension

I think most people can manage to not get triggered about what emoji is used on a post to celebrate a players milestone game.

There’s one of us tragic online fans on the drafts and trading board desperate to tell all in Sunbury how Daniel has been great
I thought someone in here had them evicted from Sunbury?? All and sundry of them. I knew it Woodend up that way

On this, like everyone on here, I’ve been driven to distraction by our turnovers this season. However, there’s a subtle difference between shank/sprayed kicks and interceptions. I would consider Jy, LDU, LMAC and Cam to be among the main shank culprits. However, (I admit, my memory might be failing me here), in the case of Caleb, I don’t recall shanks so much as interceptions. At the end of the day, a turnover is a turnover. However, while a shank is solely on the kicker, an interception can be as a result of players not being able to give Caleb decent options. Maybe, GR has instances of dreadful shanks by Caleb that would render this post superfluous. On the other hand, if I’m right, I think there’s upside to persisting with Caleb and work on our movement round the field.

He just isn't a defender in our side

Play him half forward
Who gets dropped out of the forward line for him? I keep seeing posts about moving him forward but I’m not sure if any of you seen his last couple of years at the Dogs…. Played half forward, forward, wing and defense. Was dropped to the VFL because he wasn’t capable of any of them.

We recruited him based off he once played HB in an all Australian side, and his kicks were pin point accurate. His kicking has fallen away the last couple of years, hence him playing VFL.

Last week the boundary line at Adelaide Oval tallied 2 interceptions in a very disciplined game. Was instructed to hang off Daniel and wait for the opportunity 😎

Agree to disagree.

I specifically said "sprayed", a kick that misses its intended target due to poor aim or an overexertion. He has been guilty of plenty of these whilst playing for North.

A "shanked" kick is a mishit, the ball contacts the wrong part of the foot which results in an inaccurate kick. I'm not accusing him of this.

Fair enough. I’m really just trying to get my head around how he appears to be prone to turnovers now. At the Bulldogs, he was much more consistent in his kicking.

I think it's a bit of both; he obviously has his limitations hence the lack of game time at the Dogs and North players aren't getting to the right spots, working hard enough etc. I think he's also kicking under a lot more pressure at North our defending is abysmal, he would have had that extra second or two at the Dogs which makes a big difference.

He has barely hit a bullseye for us or in the last couple of seasons at the Dogs. He is not the elite kick he once was. That is partly why the Dogs were happy to get rid of him.
