I think it's a bit of both; he obviously has his limitations hence the lack of game time at the Dogs and North players aren't getting to the right spots, working hard enough etc. I think he's also kicking under a lot more pressure at North our defending is abysmal, he would have had that extra second or two at the Dogs which makes a big difference.
Overall, Caleb is like a lot of players. They are “cherry on top” types. They play well when the team’s going well. However, they tend to become far less effective when the pressure is upped. A prime example of Caleb was the 2021 GF against the Demons. When the Dogs were going well until halfway through the third, I think Caleb and Bont were clear BOG’s. Once Melbourne upped their he ante, Daniels was completely sidelined. Playing with us is like reliving the late third and fourth quarters on repeat, unfortunately.

The guy is a professional and somewhere deep inside there is pride, ego and competitiveness. All his sporting life being told he is too small and slow etc to make him the player that he became to win a flag, AA jacket and a B&F.

If he can’t get up for his 200th tonight in the 8th game for his new club, then it only compounds further pressure on Daniel and also Rawlings/Clarko selecting him in the first place. Play like Parker did last week, and we will all be thrilled.

Zero impact on the game.
The juice is not worth the squeeze.
He just doesn’t work in our current defence.

We dont have a good enough defence to give him the luxury to play that distributor role which he is only really capable of playing.

In a good defence they can cover his defensive liabilities, but in this current cluste**** he is getting found out.

The current backline is pretty much a disaster. If players with talent develop (big if) that backline will look unrecognisable in a few years time.

You are potentially looking at a backline that could line up like the below.

Archer Will Dawson Comben
Hardeman Whitlock Goater

It also doesn’t mean you can’t have players like Sheezel rotate back k through that group. But hopefully Harry makes the jump to a gun mid.

There is a lot of big it’s, but if they come on then the above group would be a massive upgrade on what we currently have.

Having a young player that could break lines like Goater has been disappointing, as I think with a solid run he would have established himself, which means you don’t have to play Tucker, McDonald etc.

Actually thought last night was his best game for us.

I’d be loving him up the field so Luke McDonald isn’t anywhere near him

Haha, I thought the same and then I came here and there was a strong opposing view.

Got involved in 2 chains that led to goals and didn’t seem to make as many blatant errors.

Has looked better since Sheez went down back to spread the load.

What pisses me of is i could equal this output. Bloody Adam Simpson wants the ball to have to travel 20 metres before it can be marked.

If this bloody happens, no one will ever mark a kick from Daniel nee Dinkers every again. Comp is rigged.

He was OK last night. Of all the weeks for a carry on, this wasn’t it.
