He needs to be dropped. This is an absolute disaster.

The guy tries his heart but it’s just not working.
Agree. 100% needs a spell in the VFL, but can’t see it happening.

What a disaster of a backline. Daniel turning everything he touches to shit, Logue swanning around thinking it’s a a big joke and a bit of a laugh. An undersized Pink having to be the main man. Comben being made of paper machete.

The list just goes on…….

The hood ornament plants himself in the most dangerous position in the D50 as if he thinks he’s going to effect the marking contest. He’s like a ****ing beacon for the opposition on where to kick the ball.

I’d rather see cooper or Duursma or even Whitlock play his role. Can you believe those guys have been languishing in the two’s while this guy has been putting on his best impersonation of a black hole in our backline.

And the sad thing is he won’t get dropped because of the price we paid to get him in. Remind me again, is it a 3 or 4 year contract?

He runs 10 metres away from the player with the ball (who has taken a mark) calls for it then appears unprepared when it’s inevitably called ‘not 15’.

For someone with an apparent football IQ..
Exactly this. Can't judge 15m. Don't hate him, just time to move forward

Was always silly bringing in a designated kicker. And then to boot, his kicking isn't actually that good.

Knows what he's there for and that he doesn't offer much in terms of defence, structure, etc. so makes it worse by running patterns to get the handball receive. And we look for him instead of just letting the Hardemans and McKerchers play naturally.
I think it was in the 3rd, Daniel panicked in defence and handballed to kercher's knees in extreme danger.

Kercher dodged the footscray guys, seemed to run towards Daniel, show him the ball and then dash straight up the guts and deliver a long kick into the centre. It was a classy play and his poise and assuredness humiliated Daniel.

I really wanted to like Caleb, but he has had enough time now.

Another useless at defending defender
HTPunter with the early call. 👊🏼💥

Daniel is a dead set liability as a defender. He is simply too small. Unlike Watson at Hawthorn, who is a similar size, he lacks pace, a leap and a penetrating kick. 4 years! I posted elsewhere in the past that he wasn’t worth pick 25. That he didn’t move the needle. That he didn’t break the lines. So if he ain’t giving us anything offensively what’s the point of playing him in the side? Because we all know he simply can’t defend. Arguably one of the worst trades we have made as a club. Which then led to arguably one of the other most ordinary trades we have made as a club. Trading our Future First. A high end pick in the upcoming draft for another tall defender when we already had a number of them on the list and a 2nd Rounder. Vineys. Rawling. Hang your heads in shame. Rawling in particular will go down as one of the all time shambolic recruiters / list managers. The Mark Neeld of List Management. And he still has a job! **** me swinging sideways with a razor blade laced dildoe. :stern look

As I sip my glass of half full water to counter
  1. Hardemann has been good and improves each week.
  2. Cooper Harvey showed me more last night than Jackson Archer has all year when he was sent down there. This might be the revelation we need as one of the many missing pieces to our jigsaw.
  3. LMac would be running top 8 in the Syd and has been solid and reliable this year. He was missed last night.
  4. Goater may return in the next 2-3 weeks.
  5. Plug multiple games into Dawson, and not Logue/Corr to get his confidence and fitness up to AFL standard.

I share the sentiment. I guess I am just so over us putting out the backline we have for years now. I’ve had enough of this period where we are easy to score against and can’t springboard from the back half like the majority of teams in the comp.

I love what Hardemann brings and have always been bullish on Goater, but after an Achilles that will be a slow burn.

Flash forward a few years and hopefully you are seeing a backline led by W Dawson and Whitlock with Comben playing that 3rd man interceptor with players like Hardemann, Goater, Archer and Harvey filling roles in that defence.

I just can no longer stomach watching Logue, Daniel, Corr etc play like suburban footballers when they should be providing experience and consistency. LMac is unfairly maligned sometimes, but you can’t question his commitment, but we should be as a side making it hard for guys to get a game, not gifting games to wage thieves like Logue.

I just fear we have cocked up this rebuild and we are going to be stuck in a loop where mediocrity is the ceiling.

His 2 efforts against his old club are just plain embarrassing. .

One thing I noticed is the dogs players were a lot “nicer” to him first time round.

Last night he got decked a couple of times and they were more in his face

He was horrendous. Missed kicks, inability to work through tackle attempts from the dogs and complete inability to defend cost us a handful of goals. This contract could rival the Polec one. Shouldn’t be in our best 22 in the first year of the deal.

I don't fear it. I KNOW we've cocked it up. This is at least the third incarnation of the rebuild after the previous two were cocked up, and whilst this one is going slightly better, it's only in that it couldn't be worse than the other two. We have a sprinkling of talent across the ground, but standards are low and a lot still has to happen for us to get out of the bottom few. We lost by 8 goals last night and my first instinct was that it was OK. Nine years of being mediocre or worse will do that and the path to the top still seems light years away.

He had a bad one.
I do think last few weeks, he's been okay - maybe not great, but okay. Last night wasn't his night.
