Maybe they should have judged him on how well he played his role as a rebounding defender. Sadly he proved unable to break lines with either his run or kicking and ended up settling for sideways ball retention instead. That would be fine if he was beating his opponent, but he never had one and got brushed aside in every contest.

When jokers like Daniel finish 6th in the B&F you don't need to see the ladder to know you're down the bottom.
Fancy allowing him to kick in, or waddle up the ground, sell himself up shit creek and then make it someone else's problem.
We all want to believe we will improve, but how hard is it to say to him don't kick the farking ball in ever again.

He is great in close, but that doesn't happen often enough to make up for his, pardon the pun, shortcomings.

Really, I highly doubt posters are that silly, it is a horible outcome, but one the sensible knew would happen. It vindicates those that drafted him, and I'm sure that is why he polled so well.

It validates that he's playing his role and the structure. It also evidences that the rest of the team aren't helping him like they should. B&F isn't the Brownlow.

I reckon they're asking him to do something which they know is difficult. Especially for a guy his size coming into a team for his first year. I think they value that he has taken on a lot of pressure and criticism.

We've been abysmal moving the ball out of our back half for a really long time. At times we looked improved on this front. I assume he has had a direct and maybe indirect influence on this.

We obviously need to continue to improve on this front.

Curtis, Zuurhar and McKercher should all have been well ahead of Daniel in the vote count. The Coaches (some of them anyhow) clearly had an agenda to make sure the shiny new recruit on the 4 year contract was well entrenched in the top 10.

Our recruiting efforts this year would be severely hampered if Daniel was punted to the VFL and finished equal 16th in the count. Need to show loyalty and continue to back the spud, if we want to have a chance at landing other spuds is how I see it.

Well each to their own as we say. Not our roles to tell them differently.

I though do think season 2026 could be interesting for the wee man.
We imo missed LMac and yes after witnessing our backline , Archer also. Then there's Goater

I'd suggest 2 of Corr, Logue , Pink and Dawson will play most weeks.

Comben and Hardeman are in our best side.

Well, it's my worthless opinion that Sheez doesn't deserve to be on the same plane as X. Of the 20+ gamers this year, X was the obvious standout.

Powell, Zurhaar, Curtis, McKercher, Wardlaw, and of course your mate all had placings that many on here would disagree with.

To be honest, I'm not sure we need bother to put stock into the coaches' opinions on performance until we start to mitigate our flaws. 6 games lost by 50+, including 3 by 80+. Those are lows that many hoped and believed would be behind us this year.

Thus, we can't rule out the possibility that the coaches are huffing paint between quarterly breaks

FFS he was pretty ordinary but you really thing the coaches think that much about it that they stack their votes to justify decisions made by list management teams.
