50 games or 23 year old has always been a good range for young players to show what they can do

in 2023 its still valid

Even for Noah Cumberland

Is really turning into a dynamic winger Rossy. A different type of winger than we are usually used to being able to play inside as well as contribute more offensively. Just thought I'd take a quick look at a statistical comparison between his season this year and our best winger over our successful period Kamdyn.

Kamdyn has been incredibly consistent over the course of his career, not really having a standout year in particular, so I will use his 2017 year to compare the pair as he played every game. (Keep in mind Ross has had 2 games as the activated sub)

Kam - Ross
Games: 24 - 12
Disposals: 14.9 - 17.9
Marks: 3.5 - 5.6
Goals : 0.1 - 0.4
Tackles: 3.1 - 1.7
Goal Ass: 0.3 - 0.5
I50's: 2.7 - 2.6
Clearances:0.4 - 1.2
Clangers: 3.6 - 2.2
R50's: 1.9- 2.2

People backing the MC for dropping him have gone into hibernation.

I'm happy to back the match committee all the way. They don't make the moves they make for no reason. You were dropping Jack Graham. And post game I note you are still dropping him. Which is ludicrous.

Definitely that’s why we would’ve lost without Ross. JGTI was actually horrible for the majority of the game. His last goal was a poor defensive error where Mr Plod was standing all alone as opponent didn’t pay any respect to him. A mis kick went to him and he finished. The other goal was he was the last man on the chain which resulted in a simple goal.
Don’t hang your hat on JGTI bc he’s a plodder . Sad how you can’t see it yet wanted Ross out bc some morons in a MC said it was ok. 😂

Could Jack Ross become our Mitch Duncan in 2 years time

Loved Graham's turnover hack kicks from defence & missed tackles but especially loved that bizarre low shot for goal 20 metres out almost in front with three defenders standing in the way. #BOG :thumbsu:

We see what we want our eyes to see and our minds to believe. He’s a hack just costing us cap space and kids from getting developed.

Lol 19 disposals 2 crucial goals with very nice conversions, 4 tackles and probably a load of pressure points and unrewarded running(these two things are normally given with Graham) as a high half forward and you say he was horrible for the majority of the game. All that means is you are not capable of assessing a player's contribution on merit.

The guy played a good game. It won't kill you to say it. It doesn't somehow count less what you do in the final term when the game is on the line. Since I have ever known following football it counts for more not less.

Don’t know what Kamdyn was doing 2017 but I agree Ross plays it very differently.
If you look at tracker on the AFL app ..Kamdyn is always on the leader board for a lot of the categories. Kamdyn the runner who spends a lot of time in defence while Ross is a midfielder who know how’s to get the pill playing on the wing. That’s just my vibe.

I've been saying it for a good while now, Ross is one of our better ball users. Love the way he stands up and absorbs the tackle, or evades it and then dishes off to a team mate in a better position. In a strange way it was what we lost when Shedda retired, that forward linking handball. Shedda did it at speed, Ross takes his time, either way good traits in a footballer. And his kicking is very creative as well. Amazing what confidence does for a player.

Exactly right mate, a lot of what Kamdyn does doesn’t actually show up on the stat sheet with the work he does defensively.

If you watch macca closely he’s lost a yard with his agility , he has a turning circle and whilst turning around his opponent just goes whooshka,,,,tbh he’s very lucky if he gets another contract I think his spot should be bw HRS , juddy banksy or browny

He’s a very capable senior player , no star but reliable and a nice kick of the sherrin too ,,,,no bloody way should he be treated like he’s the last one in the team

I thought he played an accountable game actually, nothing special but not poor either. This level is where he should be at in terms of his career progression and it required being dropped in order to elicit the motivation. His first 5 to 10 mins of the Brisbane game was sub-standard, some of the most insipid efforts I've seen in the Y and B for a long time. Hopefully Jack has turned the corner now and well done to Mini/match committee for demoting him, thank goodness the latter don't read BF!

I think it will depend on the new coach. Dimma liked his wingers to be more defensive gut runners. The new coach may want something speedier and attacking.
