1000’s and 1000’s of juniors have talent and potential but it’s something like 0.02% of juniors make it to an afl list and then only 20% of all AFL players play 100 games.
He might not have all the tricks but this bloke doesn’t quit.

Had to bide his time early in his career and now firmly locked into our best 22
Will never be an absolute elite player but gives 100% and all clubs need dependable solid players underneath their absolute top tier.
Does have some neat tricks and skills too IMO despite what some might say.

Feel like he will lead really well tonight.

Ross seems to be playing at the level of a proper b grade inside mid this season. We are seeing big leaps forward in key inside mid stats like centre clearances, tackles, pressure acts, contested possessions, hard ball gets.

Played a terrific game last week. Well done on the 100 games and captaincy.

He's earned his 100 games. Club has stuffed him around a fair bit, he was put on a diet after 1st season losing his strength, played out of position majority of his career. Just missed out on being a premiership player. He's shown glimpses of potentially being an A grader then backs up with plenty of average and lousy games.

Not everyone can be a superstar, clubs need solid B graders to fill out a best 23, all in all been a handy player. Sad thing is since Dusty was drafted 16 years ago Ross and Graham are the only mids we've taken who've had somewhat ok careers. Plenty of busts. Pretty good result for a pick 43 compared to all the 1st round busts. Father sons locked down, here's hoping when we rissole Hopper and Prestia eoy his game can go to another level until the kids develop.

there is no reason he shouldn't be at the peak of his powers physically/mentally.

Not skilled? Not true. quantum levels above Hopper.

21 Was up in SEQ so saw Ross sub on for Caddy and played wing well. v

22. Ross played well on the wing. Played well in the final loss.

Good luck to Rossy on his 100th but sadly, this just shows where we're at right now if Vlaustin and Broad are overlooked as interim captain. We're a mess. Ross wouldn't get a game in the top teams.

Or did they give him the Captaincy as the two previous Captains are injured and he is playing his 100th game and is now in the leadership group?

I wouldn't read too much into it, its a nice reward for a man that is starting to show leadership amongst our very young team.

Has the makings of a very good captain IMO . Works hard doesn’t get caught up in moments and is prepared to put the team first eg play defensively when it requires .

Good 3Q in particular, I think he had 13 touches , and a major reason we were hanging in there.
23 of his 27 possessions were handballs.
seems to pick the best option more often than not by hand.

He is good in traffic, one of our few that under the pump is able to buy some time and make good decisions. If he was a yard faster he'd be a gun. Rather have the ball in his hands than anyone else in the team, bar Lalor of course who is next level.

Got to admit there’s more to his game than I thought. Nice sidestep though traffic, and very clearheaded in what he wants to do with the ball, no panic.
All you want from guys like Ross is consistency. You need some experienced, reliable heads, around the kids as you try and get them to 50+ games.
