Been picking mangoes and grapes on the family farm for the past 3 months - could not be looking forward to uni starting again any more!

Gonna be 41 deg today so have taken the day off (can do that when dad is boss!) and I am going diving, hopefully bag a load of crayfish

Finding it hard to concentrate on work with the bushfires, and because everyone keeps ringing and asking, "Have you evacuated yet?". We haven't been in danger since Saturday, but still feel very unsettled.

diving trip didn't quite go to plan. Pressure popped something in my ear while about 6 metres down having just caught my second crayfish. Couldn't dive after that so had to watch as my mate caught a further four. Saw a couple of sharks for the first time in a long time though felt quite safe with a 5-foot spear gun tucked under my arm.

Yeah i did a cert 3 in high school, geez it was boring, we spent the whole time hacking into the computer network to send messages to our friends in other rooms. Once we even hacked into his computer and was looking at what he was doing.... We saw him trying to transpose his face onto james hirds body, so we print screened it and printed it out and bagged him about it for ages.

Ive actually still got most of my work so if ya struggling let me know. Not sure how many essays you have to do, we did a few but this was back in 03.

but it's a Cert:3 course, people should know how to bloody add an attatchment to an email. At least today we got do our own web page, html writing and everything like that, that was fun.
It's getting better though and I am actually learning something, can't wait for the harder stuff.
I will be sticking with it!

What I meant was they really do start from the beginning. It should get a bit more challenging pretty quick.

Websites are interesting. I have some interesting freeware software for reverse "engineering" flash web sites or any flash movie for that matter so you can see how they are put together. Very edifying.

all i do is sit at work and inbetween jobs watch NBA online and email all day long. It sux

thanks for the confidence vote in my choice of industry haha, nah I know what your saying...I thought it was about to get hard but now he (the teacher) is just blabbing on about photoshop, and I already know how to do pretty much everything on photoshop and word and powerpoint and attatch an email <<that was the difficult one

yeah u will find 90% of the stuff u wont use in ur job anyways, every place does it differently so as long as u know the basics they will train u up mate.
i do wish now that i didnt do I.T. but in saying that im not really into it like a lot of people so if u love Computers then man go for it.
Multimedia is probably the better side of it anyways. Im more desktop support so all hardware and software issues, accounts and onsite support is my field.

as u can tell i post a lot on here so im not always that busy.

i generally bet a lot and watch the games online lol

haha, how many hours a week do you "work" But now he's got us reading shit on the web on how to use Microsoft Office and it's like 6pages and I REALLY cbf.....so I thought I would come on here, and have a look at some stuff haha..

i work 37.5 hours a week mate, standard stuff.
most cushiest job ive had and ive done I.T for a few companies.

it has its moments mate but could be doing factory work or something so cant complain.

What version of Office r u learning? they got u learning Vista or XP for the OS? would be interesting to find out as Vista is the current OS but most businesses are using XP still

we're on XP and using Microsoft 2007 so it's still boring, and I thought we were just about to go into photoshop and stuff but NO the teacher said no photoshop till next week and I was just like you're shitting me aren't you.....bored as in here.....

yeah at work we use XP and Office 2003 still but we r doing a upgrade to Vista and Office 2007 by the end of the year. Now that will not be a fun job to do

I hate vista, I know a few people with vista and it annoys the absolute crap out of me with all the program blocking and all that. Doesn't even let you play Battlefield 2 you have to go into all the settings and everything and allow it so its really annoying. You have to allow the game literally EVERY bloody time you play..gives me the shits, but I spose if I knew how to use it properly I would have a better understanding of it and it wouldn't frustrate me as much!

Vista has its good things but yeah it can be annoying in regards to security.
I wouldnt know about the game side of things, dont play games on PCs.
i have Vista at home but havent installed it over my XP, i dont mind XP so will wait til i have to

Me too. Vista has stuffed up all my Word docs. It keeps adding an "X" at the end of them and filing them in odd places. I've learnt how to save them so that they'll end up where they should be, by I never used to have to do that extra housework. And I hate that office button in the top, left-hand corner.

yeh definetly XP is brilliant, simple enough for the average computer user, yet advanced enough to entertain the advanced users, personally I don't know why they even changed it... The one thing I can think of is the $$$ but other than that it's rediculous...to me but like I said I think it's just because I don't know how to use it.
I'm finished for the day at TAFE so that's good, hanging out at my sisters work until she finishes at 4:30 and a couple of the workers here just told me to jump on the net, so just killing time until 4:30.. you knocked off work yet?

Vista is a more security based OS, there was some networking issues with XP so hence its so locked down but u can sort that out if u know what ur doing.

making virus' can be good fun, i have disks full of the shit and no actual reason or want to use them on anyone.

Although the server crashing at uni last year was well funny especially when i saw found out what happened lol.

.docx is the new word ducment style and excell and powerpoint have similar things

.doc is the old style and will work on both where as docx is only 2007

The 'X' is for XML, as most of the data is now meant to be stored and interoperable with other programs. Except for Macs. PCs still seem to hate Macs... But that's OK, 'coz I hate PCs right back.
