OK. Malceski, Davis, 3rd round pick > Fev, 2nd round pick?
Davis and 3rd pick as steak knives to seal the deal..

Keep dreaming, mate. Fev won't be going anywhere.

And if he were, the Bionic Man + a washed up hack in Davis and downgrading our 2nd round pick (WTF ) won't even come close.

Welcome to the club. Apart of the Fevola trade.

Discuss Malceski's role in the team in this thread.

:thumbsu:
Oh for f*ck sakes...

There is 9 Rounds of the season to go, and if you're off the bandwagon, stay the f*ck off, and don't bother discussing it.:thumbsd:

Fair enough, though out of curiosity what would be a fair trade?

Veszpremi, Malceski + 2nd round Pick.

Hmm not bad, Vez sounds very promising though there are big wraps on him in Sydney.. Honestly if there was a trade, we're going to have to give up alot, i would find it suprising if Davis wasnt apart of the deal. Good article in the Sun aboout his ties to Carlton, and his manager making a point of it..

Vesz and Eski. Dream on Carlton. If a deal were to happen, and this is a big if, it would probably be a promising young player and our first rounder and maybe some exchange of later picks. Similar to the Judd deal.

Except that the pick we gave up was pick 3, and the pick you say you would give up would be in the low to mid teens.

Yep, very similar.

Yeah, and Chris Judd is a Brownlow winning premiership captain and arguably the best player in the comp. Fev is a Coleman medallist who brings along a lot of baggage.

Fev is no Judd.

So you're right, it's not very similar after all

Mate you roll your eyes too much - maybe you should show some manners whilst VISITING our board or bugger off!

If we're seriously discussing this proposition you better be thinking along the lines of Vez + 1st round + player = Fev + 3rd round or stop wasting everyone's time. ;)

So you think Sydney will offer us crap?

If Fev is speculated to go... I could just see West Coast being the favourites in any trade with the Blues, kinda us paying them back after our deal with Judd.

West Coast need a good forward.... West Coast at this moment will finish bottom 3 and so will have at least the number 3 pick in the draft.

Plus Swan and Pratt would much rather see Fev rot in Melbourne colours as he finds himself in the pre-season draft.

Sorry on this one Sydney.. we don't want your KFC eating hacks in Davis and any one of your old timers.

Especially since your first round pick looks like being selection 11 or 12 (where there is no guarantee of getting someone good), and I can't see other clubs trading draft picks with your mob unless you give them something good in return.

OK, you are clearly struggling with this.

Firstly, Fev doesn't want to leave. Judd wanted to and made that clear. Therefore, what we gave up for Judd would be less than what you would need to give up for Fevola.

Fevola would be the difference between you finishing in the top 4 and not going all the way, to you winning the premiership. You're not going to get him for cheap.

Comparing first round draft picks between us from last year and Sydney from this year is also very accurate. :D

I would argue with you that if Brendan decided that he wanted to accept Sydney's offer, that would constitute him 'wanting to leave'. It's not like we're trading for him against his will.

Why do so many Carlton supporters want Veszpremi? Do you all know something i dont?

Tough goalkicker with sh!tloads of attitude. :thumbsu:

Everyone on this thread is wasting their time, including me.

  • Sydney want a forward line consisting of Hall, O'keefe and Fevola, but I'm positive we would not accept a trade with Fevola unless we got one of those forwards plus another player and/or low pick.

  • Fevola contract negotiations occur every year and nothing has gone through. In the same situation every year..
  • Knows we have a better future then Sydney in regards to young talent.
  • Family issues, would they be willing to move to Sydney and leave everything behind?
Bottom line is, you can beat your bottom dollar the the fevalinko will NOT wear red and white next year. Sorry blood fans but Fevola will be a blue for life. There is not one reason besides the money (that we can match) that insists Fevola is interested in moving to the harbour anyway. Just another exaggerated story that has had the same conclusion the past 5 years. No need to worry..

rok or jono brown or fev stays....

currently we only have fev. If we dont get a gun then we have nothing. simple equation

Fair enough, though out of curiosity what would be a fair trade?

Assuming current ladder positions

McVeigh+pick 13 ->dons for pick 5
pick 5+malceski+vesepremi -> Fev

Reasoning
- history shows that swans are more than willing to pay for players that they want (joly pick 15, richards pick 19, Fev >> richards or jolly)
- roos publically stated that he wants 1 more flag with this current group (hall, goodes etc)
- losing 2 midrange players (mcveigh/malceski) makes cap room for the swans
- ROK/Davis are both too old and unlikely to be of any interest to the blues (I'd imagine would be looking at sub 25yo players)

Sydney give up - pick 13, malceski+mcveigh+vesepremi for Fev. Might sound like a lot initially but in effect they are only really losing mcveigh from the team that has gotten them to the top 4 thus far this season. Pick 13+vesepremi arent part of the 22 so there is no impact on the team and they've shown the ability to cover malceski when he did his knee. You would imagine they would be prepared to offer such a deal as it would make them a serious flag threat (Hall+Fev with ROK/Davis/MickyO crumbing)

For the blues
Malceski offers a ready made player who is young enough and with reasonable ability/leadership
Vesepremi gives a promising-ish goal kicking option to help cover the loss of a primary goal kicker
pick 5 gives us a chance at nabbing either watts/hurley/yarran/natanui/rich/suban etc - no idea just bandying 5+ names that have been mentioned as around the mark lol)
