Thought I'd start a positive thread about last night's game and that's about Jolly. Too much focus on Ball because the biggest scoop of the decade was Jolly IMO.

From the very first bounce it was like "OMG! We won a tap!" :-) Just his presence at a rucking duel and confidence we'll get in knowing we've got a bloody great chance of winning it stirs my loins.

Not sure of his stats but a much needed nine pointer and another goal aint too bad either.

GO PIES!!

It was interesting I thought.

I went to the game and then watched the replay.

He seemed to have far more impact watching live. The whole live vs TV thing I guess.

I thought he was really good. Going to be huge for us once he gels with the midfielders.

Gave us quite a few easy clearances.

I didn't attend the game but watched it on TV, and I thought Cam Wood was very good. He's got a lot bigger over the pre-season and looks good working with Jolly. As far as I'm concerned, he's put his hand up for the back-up role and Fraser needs to earn his stripes.

Couldn't believe what I was seeing!

I've never seen us get so many first hands to the ball(only 21 so never seen us win a premiership etc), was so pleasing to watch..i've been so used to seeing opp ruckman getting the ball to opp midfielders to get a clearance and we had to wrestle it back in order to score

I agree, it was terrific seeing Jolly in the ruck last night. To see him clearly winning ruck taps and putting it exactly where he wanted it (rather than most of Fraser's hitouts where he may win one, but not decisively) it was etremely promising.

Alot of guys have been pasting Wood abit in other threads but I also thought Cam Wood was Ok. I thought he was quite good in the ruck. Would have loved him to hold that mark about 15m from goal but that's footy.

I'm not sure what we'll do with Fraser as L.Brown looked very good at FF. Just another big body to create a contest.

Will be worth his weight in gold as the season progresses.

Really encouraged by his effort in what is really a fairly meaningless pre-season game, looked like he was keen to win the respect of his new teammates.

He really is going to be very good for you. He is better the cats ruckman and may be able to get your midfield more fist use over theres in the big games.

I still miss him.

Also please note Swans fans have not started threads about how bad he is going to be despite the way we lost him unlike another fan set..... perhaps because we saw pick 14 perform well for us last night and look like he could be an a grader.... amazing how it can take the sting out of losing someone when you can agree on terms instead of hostility I suppose :thumbsu:

I liked Jollys i thought tap work through out the game was good he could have played better (but its a praccy match so i'll cut him some slack). i thought he was a bad mark with the ball smacking him in the face on two different occasions when the ball was kicked towards him.

His clearly got a lot more to give.

To be honest, I find of all the opposition supporters on here, I get along with all the Sydney ones well. There seems to be no ********s on here that support Sydney.

Once again, there was a huge difference between the Jolly I saw live, compared to the Jolly I saw on Television.

He has so much presence when you're actually at the ground.

Sydney fans were quite civil about this way before you knew how good Jetta is going to be .
Kudos :thumbsu:

Agree. We've always had a good trading history with the Swans. The bitterness that a certain set of supporters still show, is dumbfounding. I've come to the conclusion it's just the minnow mentality that they lost a player to one of the wealthy clubs in the game for no return.

Paul Roos is a class act. Many clubs would not have traded a gun player still under contract.

On Jetta. WOW. Only one game but looks a Andrew Lovett with a defensive side to his game and not the off field issues.

All ofg a sudden the Swans have alot of pace in Jetta, Rohan, R.Shaw, Kennelly, Malceski & Mattner.

Jolly is in the best 4 ruckmen in the comp. Ottens, Sandilands, Cox & Jolly
