My AA team for the year would be:
B: T.Lockyer M.Scarlett D.Fletcher
HB: J.Adcock M.Egan H.Shaw
C: J.Bartel D.Kerr K.Cornes
HF: L.Franklin M.Pavlich B.Harvey
F: B.Johnson J.Brown S.Johnson
R: D.Cox G.Ablett(c) C.Cornes
I: H.McIntosh C.Ling N.Foley S.Fisher
E: J.Corey S.Lucas A.Carazzo
But a few of these players werent nominated in the 40.

I reckon Ablett, Bartel, Ling, Egan will make it.
Glass to beat Scarlett out for fullback. Milburn to be overlooked as usual. Mooney and Corey have too many ahead of him as key forwards and midfielders respectively. Suspension will cost SJ when it comes to the crunch.
Apparently Geelong nominated 11 players. Ottens would have been one, who does everyone think the other was??? Enright? Mackie? Harley? Not quite there really are they?

Milburn is one of the most underrated players i have seen play this game. His consistency never ceases to amaze me.

Me too he's been good again but Milburn's had plenty of better years than this year. Can't see selectors changing their minds suddenly, that's all.

Ablett and Bartel are practical certainities.
I think Egan should be CHB for two reasons 1) he has a great year and 2) there r no other players in the squad that I can think of that actually play the position.
Ling has had a great tagging year and more often than not has completely silenced the opponent's best player. I rarely recall when he has hasnt and in those cases he might have a bit of an excuse (eg. sydney game, got smacked around a fair bit). Not to mentoin his goaling prowess.
Milburn should get a spot mainly for his consisenty of the past few seasons. Sure it hasnt been his best season as I think he was much better in 2005 and should have made that team but I think the fact he is in the top team will be enough for him to finally reconized for his consisenty.
Scarlett's form warrants a spot but I think cause he has done it before and the selectors wont want to get too Geelong heavy, he might miss out.
Of course I'm a Geelong supporter so I cant help being biased but I cannot see why Stevie J wont get a spot. He missed 5 games and still managed to kick 40+ goals. I think there would prolly be only two or three games in the whole season where he didnt kick a bag of 3 or 4 and that is consisenty that must be rewarded but prolly won't.
Mooney has been good but nowhere near in the same league as the Pavlich's, Brown's or Franklin's so I sincerley doubt he'll get a spot.
The same goes for Joel Corey who despite being a very good midfielder, I dont believe he is an A-Grade one yet.
So in all, I predict we should get 4-5 AA's, any less and they must be out of their minds.
