Adam Cooney or Brock McLean

I'd have McLean. As stated Adcock has this year has probably moved ahead of both. Cooney has greater upside obviously but doesn't seem to be producing. He seems doesn't seem to deal with taggers to well. If he can get tougher and stronger this won't be a comparison in a few years.

Theres been a hell of a lot of crap written here bout Cooney. Im supposed to believe Cooney isn't half the player of Adcock depsite Adcock having his best season in 07 and still getting less of the ball and far less goals.

in 2006 in stats Judd and Mclean were the top two for minutes played.

Cooney is a different sort of player but i would take Mclean and Cooney ahead of Adcock.

Cooney had an OP affected year in 06 meaning he had a restricted pre-season leading into the 07 season. The track watchers at Whitten Oval hardly sighted Cooney through the pre-season and he only got onto the track with about 4 weeks to go before the season started. By my reckoning he had a pretty good year in 07, but I think he will much better in 08 with a full pre-season under his belt.

At this stage of there career's I would think McLean might be just slightly in front of Cooney. I think this may change over the next 2 or 3 years.

Touche I know they're different players but what I was trying to point out that Cooney gets a lot of criticism for someone who gets so much of the ball and kicks so many goals and runs with the ball and uses it well. People judge him so much more harshly because he was a number 1 pick but he is a very good player and will only get better.

If people viewed Rischitelli the same way they'd want him delisted

McLean seems to be injured every year. Good player, though - I really wish we had of taken him ahead of Ray. Imagine Cooney, McLean & Griffen in the same midfield for the next decade. It'd of been quite handy.

IMO Cooney has a greater upside (OP the last two years also) and is by far a genuine match winner. 33 disposals and 5 goals vs. Adelaide 2006 Round 20 a prime example. The last quarter in the game against Brisbane out of the middle that same year was also another.

Cooney just needs to find consistency. He actually found a tougher edge this season and made more tackles than he did previously. It's just a matter of trying to get Cooney to do this far more consistently.

Both The Dogs & Melbourne would be happy with their players and neither would want the other.

I'd rather have Cooney as well, his pace is just what we are lacking though McLean's leadership potential is pretty handy in itself.

Cooney did pretty well this year with no pre season, Mclean would be just behind him in the pecking order of the draft.

McLean. Quite easily. But i suppose it depends on what the clubs looking for. At the time we drafted Brock we really needed hard and tough mids. Now it's the other way around. If you take into the fact Cooney was number 1, Brock has been better value.

Luke Hodge 2007 stats Vs Cooney 2007, and Hodge is two years old..

And Hodge played 2 more games. not a lot in it.
