McHenry with another preseason I feel will be a big improver. His last 2 games of 22 and 24 disposals with 6 & 8 marks, give him a license to use his tank.
Hately I feel is far from a write off and maybe the big benefactor from Burgess appointment.

Offers will come for him and every chance clubs pay up for him, e.g. Geelong or Dogs.

Us trading out Strachan (for **** all in return), only for ROB to go down with a long term injury would be classic Adelaide.

I've bagged him a couple of times (well... a couple of times daily for over decade) but I need to give some credit to Doc Clarke.

Now we've got two ruckman who can hold their own at AFL level, both late picks, developed solely by us.

Will be good for them to compete next year. Drive each other to perform. Potentially we end up with a handy trade chip out of it too.

He's trying to get into the middle at Collingwood. If we can offer him every opportunity to be a mid, that would be a sweetner. He would need to earn his inclusion but I think most crows fans would be happy to see if it can work.

Stachan was the best lower league ruck all year and he's 25.

I'm not saying it's the right thing to do but it's not a ridiculous suggestion.

I wouldn’t be actively looking for a trade but if the right offer came I think Strachan has shown that it would be worth the risk, I.e. if we can turn ROB into a pick that helps get us Dawson/Rankine.

Although personally I don’t see the rush to get Rankine this year, if he wants to come pick him up cheaper when he’s out of contract, it’s not like we’re contending and he’s the missing piece.

He may not get cheaper than a year where he's playing reserves footy and GCS owe him $700k.

You rarely get to keep 2 AFL quality first choice rucks that can't play meaningful minutes elsewhere at your club. The guy playing SANFL awaiting injury will be entertaining offers from clubs needing a RTG first ruck. Likely that we'll be losing Strachan, so it raises the question as to whait's our best result assuming one will be departing. Fair discussion, especially seeing Strachan is presently unsigned.

We have 2 mid range plodders in ROB and Strachan, both are OK but an upgrade would be highly desirable as our team becomes a contender. Rehn and Pittman they are not. There not even Clarke and Biglands. I accept they’re better than Herbert and Golding.

Totally irrelevant how they compare to our past rucking combos. It's whether the one that's not signed is deemed a better option than existing at another club. It's not us pushing either out, it's losing one who is offered a lead ruck role at another club.

Nicks has constantly talked speed, speed, speed ....and other Clubs are the same ....this is why Roberts will definitely slide a long way in the Draft

He will be taking phone calls from teams that are currently playing a ruck less entrenched than ROB. Strachan is the best ruckman in the lower leagues and has shown he could have it to be an AFL first ruck.

He's not worth much, but sides will be looking.

Eh. Ruck is the least important position on the ground. Geelong and Richmond are the two best teams of the last decade and there isn't a premium ruck amongst them.
