Watts will come in for Begley I reckon. I heard Begley is having a bone scan on his groin so that would make him extremely doubtful for Saturday.

Can someone explain why Mattner, Shirley and Skipworth are in the team ahead of Torney, Reilly and Watts/Jericho?

So I reckon the young lad will be playing on the weekend.

Bassett hasn't recovered. He hasn't trained all week and is given until tommorrow's training session to prove his fitness. I am putting 2 and 2 together here. Watts is officially out of the Eagles side and that to me suggests that either Bassett or Begley will not play.

My gut feeling is that both won't play and Watts and Torney will come in.

I am stoked that Schuback is in. Please play him as a crumbing forward and give him instructions to be at the feet of Carey and Stevo all the time.

Looks like Scott Welsh has a gold pass down at West Lakes. Jericho gets duded and Welsh keeps his spot. Jericho definetly did not deserve to be dropped.

I am very happy for Schuey coming in. Ladhams didn't deserve to hold his spot but then again neither did Welsh or Mattner.

If Torney doesn't play for the Crows this week then its a joke. Watts also deserves a game.

Reilly would be better than Mattner.

Schuback for Jericho, is a good move.
Think its Stevens for Jerricho
Schuback for Ladhams

Won't get any arguments from me on those changes
Skipworth though?

I think its called trialling the list - certainly no other explanation:confused:

Get off Matners back Stiffy - he wasn't our worse player last week, and I could think of 4-5 players I would drop B4 him.
He's still a young kid, in age and football terms, give him ago - he aint as bad as you make him to be.;)

He's alright. I mean you have to get it to be able to burn it!
he will settle soon (i hope this week) and once he does we wont even remember the poor desisions.

Oh I am being VERY kind to that excuse of a footballer.

Anyone who can't hit a team mate with a handball who is 2 meters away under no pressure does not deserve to keep his spot.

You say you would drop Skipworth but Mattner was not much better if at all. He was plain CRAP

You forget the brilliance to get the ball prior to the handball, and that (as all good footballers) he followed up on his error, picked the ball up and disposed of in "magnificant" fashion:p

I can understand Smith, Yes Burns to a degree, I even agree with your comments on Welsh, But noway is Mattner as bad as you make him to be. ;)

Fair dinkum you are on some strong stuff tonight :p. He is THE worst disposal in our side.

Hell yeah he is deadset crap. If he wasn't that bad why is it that no other club wanted him when he was put up for trade at the end of last year??????

Skipworth deserves another game, he has very good disposal and I was impressed with him when he had the ball against Collingwood (the times he got crunched he generally had only just got the ball and it was inevitable).

Definitely some good signs from him.

Worse than Perrie?
Worse than Biglands?
Worse than Burton?
Should I go on?

TWT, but give him a go, his disposal IS NOT THAT BAD. He sets the example for team tackling - when our tackle count is up, we generally win.
He's only 21 years old - how many hadn't even made their debuts yet, and you have his career over

From the AFC site:
A strong first half of the year, in which he played nine of 11 games – including an eye-catching 21-disposal effort against the Kangaroos in round six – wasn’t matched by the second half of the season, in which the young run-with player managed only one more match (round 17) and then succumbed to a back injury that ruled him out from round 20.

1. He is not better than Sarge thats for sure
2. Yes
3. Yes
4. Please do

5. Yes his disposal IS THAT BAD. Yes he is the best tackler in the club but apart from his tackling and 1%ers there is NOTHING else that you can say is good enough.

I'm not a big gee for Mattner, but either side of that terrible error, it was a brilliant effort to get the ball and then he did at least follow up, regain it, and dipose of it well.

I didn't think he was anywhere near our worst last week.

Quite correctly, the club is giving all borderline players, including Mattner, a chance to put their case why they should or shouldn't still be on the list next year.

The ones that I think are a bit lucky to be still in this week given that Bode can't get in and Jericho has been dropped - hopefully not for too long - are Shirley and Skippy.

He was just building up stats :o

I reckon both are good wet weather players so considering its likely to be a slog, both of those selections are somewhat justified.

You guys drop Jericho, we (apparently) drop White.

Seems like there are plenty of drugs going around in the coaches boxes these days.

Did White get dropped??

I went to the Port v Richmond game last week, and I thought he was good value and looked to be that extra tall up forward Port have been seeking.

Strange move.
