Nobody wants to give away their tips?

I'm thinking Pats 16CR. Seems easy enough.

C'mon guys this is more fun if we discuss things!

Nobody wants to steal tips anyway because all confident tipsters think they could do better
As a Pats fan I never put them 16CR i am a little supersticious, but they are close enough.Honestly think the spread for tomorrow's game is absurd, i'm taking the punt on Denver tho only for 2.

Anyone week one is a risk at 16.

Too many away teams are favoured this week too.

Early season I reckon offenses have the advantage. Even average O's can savage average D's before teams have had a good look at what they're doing.

I believe so. What do we do there? Nothing showing up in the website.

Go to the TOPLIST menu tab.
Select 10 teams....two teams selected must be teams who won six games or less last year (the teams marked with a (6) designation.....and maximum six teams selected must be teams who made the playoffs last year (the teams marked with a (P) designation.
Then go to the TEMPTATION menu tab.
Select however many teams you wish to send out to play this week, and choose which bet you want to use on each one of them.

SPREAD (line), +27 (means if you think that team will score 27 or more points in the game), and WIN means if you just tip the win. You get more points for the line and team score than you do choosing the win.

Your 10 toplist teams are locked in when the season starts, and are to last you the whole season.
Every time a team you put a bet on loses their bet, you lose that team from your toplist group for the rest of the season.

"Note: There are NO restrictions (minimum or maximum) to how many TOPlist teams you send out in any given week. You can perhaps run the gauntlet of 10 teams to just win for 10 points. However there is a restriction on UP to SIX play-off teams from the 2012 season which can be selected along with TWO teams having won just SIX games or less, must be included within your TOPlist.

At the conclusion of Week 17, the highest overall points scorer will be declared the inaugural TEMPTATION CHAMPION from managing your TOPlist teams who you trusted in helping you gain enough 4-3-2-1 points from up to five weekly temptations and a minimum of one temptation per week however FAILURE by that selected team to accomplish their mission = elimination of that team from your TOPlist."

are the highlighted parts not contradictory or am I missing something?

Sorry JeffDunne some of the lines are wrong.

Saints are -3, Texans are -3 and 49ers are -4.5 from my Temptation picks

I don't know if this has been addressed but some of the betting lines listed in Temptation are F'ed up. The sign (+ or -) need to be changed for STL, NO, KC, SEA, SF. Remember, if you're a FAVORITE, you're giving points, hence the "-". Example.....St. Louis +4.5 at home vs. Arizona??? Hell, yeah I'd take that!! (Should be STL -4.5). They do have that kind of betting in Vegas....called a tease, where you can add/subtract to the line but it doesn't pay even money. But that's another story.

Some of them on the AE site are right, but a lot are wrong.

But double-check, these should all be the favorites....

Broncos (-)
Steelers (-)
Bears (-)
Patriots (-)
Lions (-)
Saints (-)
Colts (-)
Browns (-)
Buccaneers (-)
Seahawks (-)
Chiefs (-)
49ers (-)
Rams (-)
Cowboys (-)
Redskins (-)
Texans (-)

I reckon if you want to tip the LINE just pick who you would with the correct odds given above. Even if displayed wrong on the AE site, and then JD can just fix the wrongly displayed ones on the site, and it wont affect then your bet.

Earlier in the day, I was reverse-parking when a beautiful woman stupidly ran across the back of my car. Luckily I saw her and quickly stopped. I did a PHEW expression, and she smiled and waved. I still feel like it was a missed opportunity. What should have I done differently?

Going through my tips now, man these games are tough, I've been spending last couple of weeks watching tennis instead of reading previews about how the Jets are going to suck, can I pick tennis players instead?

So many games I want to watch too, Monday morning is going to be ridiculous

The NFL loves you. This is exactly what they wanted. Parity. In the 70s/80s and even a little into the 90s, there were a handful of dominant franchises. Now....it's usually someone different every year. Closest thing to a "dynasty" is New England. Amazing what they've been able to do in the salary cap era. 49ers/Steelers no slouch either. All have excellent front offices that have a clue...or two. On the other hand, the Dallas Cowboys....run by great business man, but he ain't no footbawl may-un.

There are plenty of sites that keep Line history so you can get opening Vegas lines for each game

For Example: Baltimore @ Denver

http://www.covers.com/sports/odds/linehistory.aspx?eventId=37592&sport=NFL

That provides you with big Vegas online bookies like Pinnacle, or even some of the big Casinos like Caesars.

All games for the week: http://www.covers.com/sports/nfl/nfl_lines.aspx
Ummm . . . yeah. So???

The issue in tipping comps is exactly what the line history is showing.

There is no 'official' line as such, so in a tipping comp they need to be set based on a moment in time or a particular agency. It is not fair in tipping comps to vary the line if people have already tipped.

So to avoid conflicts you need to set them to one agency at a particular point in time. Problem is, that agency may not have a line for a particular game at the nominated point in time (which was the case for sportsbet when I started putting them up).

The issue isn't finding lines - it's setting parameters that are fair in a tipping contest.
