We're returning for an eleventh consecutive season with MORE bang for your buck than ever before so pay attention what needs to be discussed here as this thread is NOT the launch but more about biting into the snag than selling the sizzle.

First up, it's a new season meaning a NEW LOOK with the branding / design. I've already received feedback with top left and bottom right getting alot of the LOVE. Feel free to throw in your 2 bobs worth as I collate the consensus votes attained from legitimate feedback. (Yes, I've tweaked the bottom left design from the initial selection).

Have spoken at length with JD last night to get more clarification of what direction we can take up our glorious NFL tipping comp another notch.

Three major topics have arised from our discussions:
1. Separating the CR comp as a STAND ALONE meaning more entries = Likely bigger prize pool
2. During BYE weeks, the highest CR value cranked up to 16CR = eliminate 1-2-3 CR values (vote pending)
3. Sven-Gate trigger of 'changing of selection' with confirmation pop up window.

I'd like to INFORM everyone that the $40 Subscription stays as it has been for the last 9 seasons.
With the CR comp being a STAND ALONE, JD suggested that this move can only HELP the AE campaigners for BONUS pay-outs (discounted pro-rata entry) along with increased prize monies in the other FIVE comps.
Be aware that two logins would be required for CR Stand -Alone as it doesn't relate to your AE comps scoring.

Gridiron Warrior has informed me about his network of 100+ wanting to participate meaning it's a going to either be SPLIT Leagues or a ALL-IN- CR cash grab.

Preferably I'd like to KEEP it all-together packaged as a SIX n' ONE comp. But I am open to a VOTE which will expand the CR competitiveness meaning that a 60% minimum majority MUST apply to the change of either CR values increase during bye weeks or/and CR stand alone comp will apply.

YOU will get TWO votes on four options. I'll leave this POLL OPEN until the 31st of JULY.
No correspondence will be entered to as the DECISION to go stay with the Six comps of the last two seasons.
CONFIDENCE RATING
3XKO
NEXT DUEL
DROP ZONE ELIMINATION
HOT STREAK
HIGH ROLLER SWEEPSTAKES

The comp 'HIGH ROLLER SWEEPSTAKES' will remain with the AE package meaning that if the 60% vote passes, the highest CR total from the AE17 member/s will only qualify and not the CR stand alone competitors.

I anticipate we may lose 15-20 AE packaged members if the 60% passes but that's ok, 60 will be sufficient to compete.

JeffDunne has suggested we make way of the minimal CR value during BYE weeks and start from 16CR as the MAX CR each week. This has a DOUBLE EDGED SWORD connotation, folks. The likes of peterbuch74 may embrace it because TWO CR titles says plenty OR he may not be too keen to have his 2011 highest CR record score smashed.

Last season, there was some controversy (in the ND play-offs) with a decision given in favour of SVEN who initially selected the Cowboys against the Buccs in the late game. The fact that SVEN ventured back into the AE website to check his selection and allegedly accidentally triggered the Buccs button just before kick-off. Upon checking the time and immediate posting by Sven to alert me into checking the circumstances and 'REAL TIME' of the score in the Bucs vs Cowboys game, (Scoreless first Q), I gave him the benefit of the doubt.. cut a long story short >>>

JD will look to install a 'Confirmation button' after you've logged back in to make changes to 'be SURE' you want the change.

So without further ado, please submit your TWO OPTION VOTES before the Deadline of 31st July:

Also JD will look to add an instant PAYMENT button for Paypal for the AE subscribers. I'll confirm by PM / email upon recieving. I'll wheel out the AE17 Launch thread in mid-late July.

Personally I'm not fussed, I'm happy to proceed whichever way. I like the idea of MAX CR during bye weeks.

I'm torn on the packaged or standalone concept. On one hand I like that you need to weigh up whether to dive for the line in Next Duel possibly sacrificing your overall CR standing, or have the option to leave your CR alone, but adjust selections for a ND matchup.

For now, I'll vote for keeping it packaged the way it is, but tweak the bye week scoring to MAX CR.

HAVE THREE COMPS ONLY, ALL TIED IN TOGETHER.

CR (yes to bye week no 1-2-3)

3XKO but survivor method (pick two teams per week, a team can only be selected once all year)

HOT STREAK

Obviously no love for DZE here.

As for your Survivor concept, it takes away the Wreckingball factor.
We all love being that guy who keeps the CR low whilst seeing others getting crunched (esp the ND opponent) by the stunning upset.
It's a tough gig to find winners as it is, two teams a week method has it's challenges no doubt but as the saying goes, if it ain't broke, why change it? Will possibility reintroduce the same team restriction of not being able to go back to back on winning - losing teams as I sense the Jets will get picked on a fair bit this season with their tanking management.

IMO I wouldn't be upset to see Drop Zone and High Roller gone.

They're secondary comps that offers qualication for consistency and weekly highest scorer. Easy to manage comps if anything. You can leave them off your own league if you choose to do so.

No doubt they are easy comps to manage, just saying the prize pool for these comps could easily make the other comps more appealing for prizes

I'll PM you regards the ND set up.

For 3XKO I agree with Woodson and disagree with GG. Picking one team only once is too hard and silly as well (never liked Survivor). But bring back that you can't pick the same team two weeks in a row (winning teams only not losing).

DZ and High Roller are good because keeps people interested throughout season which then has an impact on ND. Funnelling all prize money into one or two comps will see interest drop.

Btw folks, 44 VOTES is the magic 60% majority OVERTURN number. Only 32 days to go. If it doesn't surpass 43, it's a NO GO.

Wait. There's going to be an extra 100 people playing this year?

No thanks. It's hard enough to win anything as it is.

No I think that's a separate comp...

84 is the maximum cap. The 100 (ball park number) is more about Gridiron Warrior's network which 'can' work with the AE group for the all in CR comp only. 'Can' = if the 44 votes comes thru by the 31st July deadline.

I have concerns on a few teams dominating the season and others not staying competitive enough for 2017. There is going to be a restriction this year. In past seasons it was no back to back selection of the same winning team.

Last year that notion was relaxed.
This year I'm going to look into taking a leaf out of your book GG and make a 'THREE TIME MAXIMUM LIMIT' selection of the same team. Why is this change required? It's based on the home team domination factor esp of the heavyweight teams. Last season there was a big spate of repeats of common teams by individuals.

The 3XKO Wrecking Ball in 2016 was brutal with only TEN competitors in the hunt by Week 9.
With 32 teams to pick from, surely 6 teams at least are credible to help you overcome the 'trap' match ups.

For clarification, if voted in, we would have 184 (using imaginary numbers combined above) in the CR comp competing against each other and 84 of those competing in the 5 or so other competitions?

I like the idea of one in all in, open the floodgates if people want to join (as long as the number provides smooth ND scheduling)

Another question on the two log ins. Does that mean we enter our CR tips in twice? If this is for ND then why not open a new tab for ND identical to the CR tab BUT use a different background colour or massive warning signs so people know what page they're on.

I like how the ideas are slowly merging from you guys. I'd propose for a survivor method: Similar to GG's but ONE pick per week, cannot use again for the season.

Won't be forced into choosing 0-16 possibilities but still can only choose Patriots once and really makes you think about the middle road teams.

This may have a few people run the distance, but if you're set on having your SHOWDOWN finale, players choose out of their teams remaining which could provide more spice. Maybe worth a trial run this season or a future season.

Finally, well aware I probably missed the suggestion thread boat as there is usually one each year but I usually hibernate until this time waiting for the AE Launch thread to arrive.
