If your talking about pick 1 of the 4th round you maybe about right :) I would be happy to let either of them go and use that pick on Darcy Cameron. Straight on to the senior list and develop him over the next few seasons. I've given up on Osbourne, I hate his Matthew Richardson attitude and would like to see him gone.
Mathew Richardson attitude?

Hi guys, I'm a newbie here but I'd love to see us go hard after Tom Mitchell. I know we have heaps of midfielders, but he is way too good to not get a senior game at the Swans.
From what I have heard there is a big question mark over his disposal and that was the reason he wasn't getting games, even after his 60 odd disposal game.

I think we need people with good disposal. Not that I would complain about going for him though.

Welcome!
Your not the first one to bring up his name on here. He is going to be a star. Swan supporters get pretty defensive about him saying they wouldn't trade him and he wouldn't leave but you never know. Gary Rohan is another one that has been discussed.

Rowe received a text from one of his 'sources' on the show this arvo suggesting we are chasing none other than philthy Phil Davis this trade period..
I'm hoping the club has enough common sense to realise what he did at a pretty challenging time for our club.

Yeah, i love the crows (to the point i post about it on a forum) but you offer me 1 million per year (or whatever that offer was, all i remember is it was pretty ridiculous for an unproven KPD) to play for port and i'd already be at Alberton.

Don't see it happening unfortunately. Didn't he sign a four year deal?

not the first time I have heard this, he is still very good friends with Sauce, Patty and a few others

His girlfriend still lives over here (studying Med at Adelaide Uni IIRC) so that adds a bit of weight to the rumour, if only slight.

As for the money, I'm guessing his contract was heavily front loaded so he might be a bit more affordable now given that he's 3 years into what is presumably a 4/5 year deal.

The next issue is how much he'd cost. Our first pick will likely be #8 - #10 which is what GWS would demand. Our 2nd rounder (#30? or so) just won't cut it unless we throw in a decent player.

Unlikely IMO.

Geez EQ is frothing over JP now

Jarrod Pickett (WA, midfielder)

Exciting, electrifying, exhilarating: get onto thesaurus.com and take your pick. It’s a pleasure to watch the speedy, skilful Pickett run hard, slice sides up and kick classy goals. Should be a very high pick, and is a possible No. 1 depending which team gets the pick.

Not the worst case scenario if we are actually chasing Phil Davis.

Whilst it was shit that he chose to ditch us, at the very least he chose to man up and tell us as soon as he made the decision and allowed us to gain fair compensation and didn't hold us to ransom. As such I can respect him for at least that and would be willing to take him back, God knows he's a bloody good footballer.

The player I think should be numero uno on our list however is James Aish. We need to be throwing the house at this kid. Even if it means losing our 1st round pick plus one of potentially Kerridge, Mackay, Otten, Grigg, Laird or Henderson in doing so to get it done. Aish is a player who I think we have a good chance of enticing back, however the longer it takes the potentially more difficult it will be to convince him. We need to be putting the fear of God into Brisbane that they might lose him for less than market value next year and pressure them into letting him go now.

Maybe his management has approached Adelaide. I was under the impression he wanted to go to GWS not only for the money but because he was studying Law and Sydney as a city has far greater opportunities. in the modern era where money talks I hold no grudges if players leave for opportunities they cant pass up. Look at it if he was your son and he was offered a gazzilion dollars a year to move interstate. Hell I would pack his bags for him and drive him to the airport the very next flight. The only player I would expect the AFC to say no to is Tippett! what he did was just inexcusable.

They would get a pick in the 20's, maybe even 30s. He is out for the year with a Kidney injury which has dropped his value. GWS would be wanting to trade him as a way of bringing in the exorbitant talent on their list and potentially controlling the salary cap. Phil has done what they wanted and may have been told he is unlikely to receive a contract extension to what his value demands and to possibly seek another club short on talent.

Philthy played last week and he'll play against us I'd think!

No chance of getting Pickett

I still believe Harrison Wigg is the kind of player we need... penetrating left footer!

He also had question marks hanging over his shoulder/s if I'm not mistaken, which would have further pushed him to accept the security that came with such a large offer. Don't blame him personally, and I don't think his ex-team mates did either judging by what I've read.

Yeah, I think we can forget about talking about the likes of Pickett, Petracca, Wright or McCartin. Unless we fall in a complete heap or trade for a top 5 pick, the earliest we're likely to be selecting is the 8-12 mark.

Personally I like the sound of Tom Lamb, he's a great size and has supreme athleticism to go with some genuine footy smarts by the sounds, with the view to turning him into a tall midfielder who could be thrown forward and create havoc. Sounds like he will drop a little due to inconsistency, but then for mine that's something that will generally come on with time and maturity.

We'd be nuts to not consider Durdin if he happened to slip, which may happen considering his apparently poor champs thus far. Goddard similarly sounds like a good 2nd or 3rd tall option at either end of the ground who probably has the athleticism to move into the midfield like his cousin.

Think it was more along the 700 mark, but either way pretty incredible numbers . Harper said the club offered far more than any other 20yo had been offered in the history of the club and it didn't come close.

His job on Franklin in round 1 prior to his injury was very impressive and ultimately I think it would he would relish the opportunity being the second best stopper in a defence like ours (behind tahls). In saying this, unless Harper and Trigg + co leave prior to seasons end I can't see them willing to take back someone whose walked from the club for $$$. Also have to take into consideration his shoulder and kidney issues.

i still remember rhys stanley's 2nd game as a westies player. it was down at thebby vs the eagles iirc a few years back. absolutely killed it in the ruck, pulled down a screamer in the goalsquare, kicked the goal, and in the subsequent ruck contest after did his knee.

there's definitely something there, whether it will ever come on is another question. very gifted athletically.

Yes our

2nd rounder wouldn't be enough without a player thrown in.

Or perhaps we swap our 1st rounder for their 2nd rounder.

Would be instant fix for the retiring rutten. Also allow Talia to move to more suited fb as Davis offers more attack.
