I really like Papley and the game in 2020 is far more entertaining because of guys like him but that dive rivals Rance's against Essendon a couple of years ago. The bemusing thing is that it's almost always the players that don't need to do it, that do it.

If the umpires were any good they should have called play on. Players have been staging for free kicks for 120 odd years.

Think the thing that irritates fans is the diving. Staging as you said has happened forever, but the propulsion (aka dive) with force is happening more and more (or we are seeing it more cause of social media).

diving debate is really interesting because when opponent X does it, you got nuts. When you're own player does it - "yeah but opponent does it too"
