I feel the importance of qualifying finals can be underrated due to both sides having the double chance. However, I think if we win this game we are a very good chance for the flag, and if we lose you can almost write us off. I don't see us winning an away preliminary final.
Yep, that is definitely the case for both teams.

It's a long way back for the loser of tomorrow night's game.

The average winning margin for the last 6 games is 4 points.

Nearly all games have been decided by less than 1 straight kick... so hopefully it's not a dodgy umpiring decision.

When is the last time one club had a streak against another with such small margins? I recall the Cats often winning by small margins during the Kennett Curse.

Which team here do you think Izak Rankine wants to win?

Cox has kicked 2 goals for the year. Sure he tore it up against Richmond in the finals, but that was 7 years ago. Looks a bit desperate to bring him in now.
McStay out is a slap in the face, they don't have confidence in him.
He was the difference and on fire that night back in 2018.
But like you said, that was 7 years ago.
thats a long time between drinks.

I feel like there's a sense of dread amongst both supporter bases for this one as straight sets is definitely on the cards for the loser. Don't want to face a Hawks or GWS team full of confidence, let alone potentially having to go through Brisbane at the Gabba in the prelim.

Biggest issue for the crows is their midfield. Can they get the job done. Inexperience across the board is also an issue. I think they can win and most likely will but they will need a few midfielders to step up. Collingwood will show up and have a crack but I don't know if they have the talent or cattle to get it done. The aging list is looking weary.

3 of the 4 umpires for this QF are the same ones from this matchup a few weeks ago and that was umpired horrifically. Never change AFL :tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:
May not be a bad thing.
Unless they have been living under a rock, they would know how horribly that game was umpired.
Same teams, same capacity crowd, maybe the noise of affirmation wont get to them and they are ready for what is coming.

Just curious

Apparently the noise of affirmation only happens at interstate venues??

What about when, for example a Collingwood vs Adelaide game at the MCG with 60,000 there. Maybe 5,000 (10,000 Crows supporters attending at best) yet apparently the is noise of affirmation doesn't occur there?

Strange

Weird. The AFL has apologised publicly to Adelaide for umpiring mistakes that cost them a game, five times in the last three years.

How many times have they apologised to Collingwood or Hawthorn?

Pretty accurate.

Usually form matters, Crows have been finding a way to win, so narrow favourites. If they do go early it could be a big win but like you say we usually try, and we are very capable of switching on for finals.

Who would you rather win? For your side's benefit I mean. I think Lions will win but its bloody close again, Scott is a genius. Starting to think the top 4 will go through.

TBH if you're looking at which team you can avoid at this point of the season you should probably already be on your end of season trip.
