They are people, people make mistakes but there are only four of them on the field where as there are 2 x 18 players making mistakes so the players mistakes are a larger quantum than the umps.

Once the Umps squared up Adelaide stormed back.
Had it been square from the first bounce Adelaide would have blown them away.

I couldn't care less if they put the whistle away or if they pay too many frees, just as long as it's consistent both ways.

As much as the throws and some frees in the game against us 3 weeks ago infuriated me, you can read our game day thread where we all acknowledged we got the rub of the green in the first quarter and a lot of us said that the umps will likely have to swing this back. That shouldn't have to be a thought imo.

The amount of missed frees and shit served up in the first quarter is conveniently ignored by everyone.

This is the most accurate summary of the last game between Adelaide and Collingwood.

At the game was absolutely pulling my hair out at the blatant cheating of the umpires in the first quarter-half, which contributed to at least 2 direct goals, which allowed Collingwood to think they had a chance. What happened in the second half was justice, after the start of the game.

If the umpiring is actually unbiased and hard to notice in the first quarter/half, Adelaide will win comfortably.

We won the game, in spite of being beaten in the midfield. We've won 4 or 5 games where our midfield has been soundly beaten, most recently by Brisbane and Hawks. And yet still, we are minor premiers, in spite of this. There is a reason we have won so many games. It is called league equal best defence, and league best forward line, along with one of the top 5 midfielders in the league in Jordan Dawson. Make no mistake, Thilthorpe is a beast and was born to play finals. He will be massive tonight.

Every second post is how bad the umpiring is, how bad a player is, instead of finding some joy from the game.
Umpires dont cheat, they have no skin in the game, they at time just make mistakes. As do the players.
