such a big lead up to the game and Adelaide just didn't handle the pressure.
Chances for the flag are still alive but have taken a huge hit.

Shows how important finals experience is. Night and day out there
True..... And you wonder why I was happy dockers got 5th in 2022 rather than 4th.

Had dockers got 4th, Geelong would of belted Freo at the MCG.

Then Freo would of likely lost to either magpies or swans in a semi final the next week as both belted Freo in Perth in the 2nd half of the 2022 season. Cats, swans and magpies all made top 4 in 2022 and were finals hardened.

That would mean dockers would be still searching for our last finals win since the 2015 qualifying final to the swans.

Glad how the dockers 2022 season panned out. Got 5th and a home Elim final win vs dogs then A 20 point semi final loss to magpies at MCG.

Kudos to Collingwood. Far too good for us. They were like a Lamborghini that had been cruising around in 2nd gear for 6 weeks and suddenly put the foot down to play like they did earlier in the season. I think they're going to be hard to beat at the G if they can replicate that.

Good learning experience for our players. Even after the shellacking in the 3rd quarter we had our chances to get back in the game but just lacked composure all over the ground. The eight is so even this year I suspect it won't be any easier next week. For the sake of the younger players I hope they can respond and get at least one finals win out of the season, otherwise it's going to feel like a wasted year.

If Rankine is truly remoreseful for his disgraceful actions towards Quaynor, then he should come out and condemn the crows fans booing, as we have seen that the club and coach he plays for are too pig headed and gutless.
He did the crime, he's doing the time. How about we leave him alone?

Probably a reality check - maybe even a rite of passage.

The Great Geelong team of 07-11 made its finals debut against Port at AAMI and looked completely overwhelmed.

Finals are just different. You can't play them like a normal game.

A couple of players who had moments they'd rather forget (Thilthorpe, Dawson, Keays) are too good to put in another bunny-in-headlights performance.

They'd want to.

I thought Thilthorpe was really good tonight. If you take out that bad turnover and the bizarre decision to handball instead of kicking the goal and you’d say he had a really good night. As you say it was his first crack at finals and he’ll learn from it.

Dawson didn’t star but I thought he was solid, he had to do a lot more grunt work then we’d probably like him to, and he got his hands to a fair few marks that didn’t quite stick, bit of an almost night for him.

Keays is best as a complement to Rankine and Rachele, not the main guy. We are desperate to get Rach back.

Has the search party located Jordan Dawson yet?
Talk about shitting the bed and going missing when your team needs you, that was one of the softest and most pathetic displays i have seen from a captain in a big game in such a long time.

Pies looked great. Other Head to Head games will have different dynamics, though. What happened last night may not fully carry over against Cats or Brizzy.
On the other hand, pressure hurts all set ups, and I thought that was one of the biggest differentiators last night, along with Pies being more unpredictable.

The coach disparity last night was also pretty big. That won't be the case versus Fagan or Scott.

Crows won't have time to dwell. Best that way.

I thought the game was well umpired. Just felt like the game was decided by the players rather than the umpires.
While in general I hate how much the rules change based on the month the game is played in, if every game was umpired that way it would be a much more enjoyable product.

That said, to get nit picky, I think Collingwood got away with a few insufficient intent calls early that would have been called a few weeks ago, a good amount of holding/tackling players that didn't have the ball, and in the last quarter were pretty happy to just throw the ball around knowing the umps wouldn't call it.

Overall pretty good though

Good take. 👍

If he really is truly sorry, he would definitely come out and condemn the crowd last night. Otherwise he's was just looking to save face.

What was Maynard's issue after the siren, you've won and carry on like an idiot. Didn't like it.
It’s Maynard. No other explanation needed.

Have you heard their coach Nicks' response the question of the booing... 'i don't want to comment... Didn't really hear it '.

If this is the response of the coach then it's little chance Rankine or any other players will condemn it.
