STATE OF PLAY:
  • The game is out for Steam and PlayStation. There have been issues with Xbox release and it is unclear when the game will be available.
  • Big Ant are aware that there are playability issues & bugs at present.
  • Content has been temporarily removed from the game to identify where the issues lie.
  • This content will be re-introduced via patches in the coming days.
  • Big Ant have released a summary of what is to be reintroduced, which can be seen below.

How have they not fixed season mode, just make add manage club and fix the crowds
It’s still just a play now game
 
Can't lob pass up in the air, every kick or hand ball travels low and gets intercepted easily as a result, even if the oppo player is barely under 10 metres away.



A lot of my kicks got smothered despite there being considerable distance between the kicker and smotherer. I gather its the same as the tackle teleportation issue, but in a different circumstance.

These issues plus the increase in AI difficulty makes it less fun and more frustrating to play.

The AI seems to be able to have loose players at will so when they get the ball in the midfield (or even their defending half) they're able to take it further downfield without being stopped as there are bugger all of my team nearby to stop it from happening.

Check your interactive replays. I think it's because the ball can not be lobbed up in the air, they're all low bullet like passes.
 
In the controls, it says right stick is bump/jostle AND spoil. That makes it hard to time either. Maybe L2(power modifier)+right stick is meant to be spoil ala Live 1. Just a thought...
 
Would love to know if anyone has uploaded logo's after the 11pm Steam patch?

How many patches until the crashing issues are fixed? And when will we be able to customise player accessories? Eg. Boots, sock length etc

Lack of customisation is unreal, as an Xbox owner I was happy to wait a month or so while the game was ironed out with dozens of patches but what am I waiting for?
For all of Evo 2’s flaws you had complete autonomy on the league and players, it’s comical that’s been omitted.
 
I'd love to see gameplay footage by the people who claimed the game is playable. Apparently there's a build out there where players actually respond, we're just not privy to it.

I’d be expecting a few more patches throughout the week hopefully.
 
Downloaded the PS5 patch while I was getting ready for work. Will give it a crack later, after work.

Hopefully there are noticeable improvements.

Curious to know when we'll see things return to the game that should've been in on release date. Just surprising how limited this game is right now.
 
I just played a game on I believe to be the new patch 1.000.006 and I still won 36 to 19 on hardest, game feels a lot better to play but idk if ai feels harder on my first run

The speed and evolution of this thread is amazing. Needs its own documentary series. My favourite highlight at the moment is that we seem to have moved from "The AI are so stupid, they don't even tackle, this game is unplayable" to "the AI tackle too much, this game is unplayable".

That so-called roadmap had a week timeframe didn't it? Three days to go and each patch seems to add as many issues as they resolve (or like last night's initial one, even more crashes).
 
Still can’t edit real players stats and positions
This will never be a thing in Official Seasons, we need to stick with Champion Data - because people have requested it, we are investigating people being able to copy the team as a "Custom Team" and making that editable.

People requested to not be able to customise players ratings/teams/drafts?
That is either insane or a straight up lie.
 
Morning all! Woke up this morning, switched on the PS5 and downloaded the patch whilst the kettle boiled then chucked it on for a quick 3.5 minute quarter match on medium.

Game feels a lot better and nowhere near as janky now. Couldn't for the life of me get a kick away without being tackled unless I took a mark and made a string of chip arounds - there was a lot of me just whacking handballs into the ground whilst I was caught in a tackle - had a string of about 12 of those pushing me towards my 50 like a game of rugby. Won a few ruck contests finally. Tackling a lot easier now, still just going to take time to understand it. Completely forgot to test the interchange though. Overall, much harder as well. I was down 5.2 to 1.0 at quarter time as I got used to the changes - ended up going down 8.3 to 6.1 in the end.

Just one thing - the few clearances I got where I wasn't instantly wrapped up, my player would run toward goal. I'd get a fairly decent kick on the remote (not too maxed out I thought), but the player would only kick it a few meters ahead. Has there been a change to the power settings on the run / kicking whilst sprinting?
 
Something messed up in this update and I can’t tell if it’s intentional. My players will just not handball while being tackled anymore until after the umpires pinged them

That's not what he's saying - that says "No we cant edit official ones because they're locked to champion data, but because people have requested to be able to edit them themselves, we're investigating whether they can activate the custom team situation to change the stats as a workaround to be able to edit".

Big improvement from Friday. 100%playable now. Played medium and got flogged. Still messing with camera angles and controls.

I found using "arms up" in congestion such as around stoppages gives you a second or two to dispose of a handball to a team mate.

R1 is a must hold button when in congestion without the ball, helps heaps with tackling.

Clearance kick and handball is what you need to try to do more of. Mastering those looks like it will solve a lot of issues.

Switching player isn't a problem if you have it on manual for who ever spoke about that earlier. I was able to switch most times even on semi assisted to get back and help defenders.

TEAM TACTICS are drastically needed. Bit hard to beat rock with scissors.

R1 "lock on" seems fairly clunky and doesn't seem to work from a kick in either.

Back to the clearance work though, I really rate it. You have time to get rid of the ball... you don't have to spam. I even get handballs away after being tackled to the ground. Use "hands up". Handball receives are still a bit off though...

Yeah, there's no real strategy to marking. The only strategic thing you can do is uncontest mark by kicking to space, but all the movement is so broken, it doesn't feel competent.
 
Just played a few games on the new PS5 patch…. Tackling may feel improved and ai is definitely more advanced!

But the handballing is still terrible. Every kick you get in space somehow gets affected by an opposing player that’s 5 METRES AWAY!!!
Very frustrating to play when 9 times out of 10 this happens. This needs to be fixed asap

Just played a game on my ps5 ai seems harder that is good goal kicking is meh still their needs to be deliberate etc but mine is still bloody crashing just going to put it a way till this game is actually fixed so annoying
 
Just downloaded PS patch and played first game on play now. Gameplay against AI is x10 better with both feel/difficulty. I actually really like the congestion around stoppage- think there needs to be option that allows and easier clearance kick. Excited to see the continual improvement of gameplay. The stats now look great- a key tab underneath match summary that has Disposal and Goal leaders at each quarter break would add that broadcast feel nicely.
 
Sometimes the AI takes over my selected players, too.

It feels like every time I get the space to actually kick it myself the ai takes over and says “LET ME ROOST THIS 50m TOWARDS THE BOUNDARY LINE FOR YOU BUDDY”
