Seems like patch notes are out already .. not sure how to feel about it.. thoughts?? šŸ‘€

ITS GONE LIVE ALSO! Just got it on PS5 = 1.7GB

So we can conclude Training mode, along with single player mode just never existed and they’ve taken us for a ride since day 1 🤣 I swear this mob never fails to deliver on failing to deliver.

until you actually attempt to make comparisons between both games and realise you're only reaching and making yourself look like a moron

edit: softdrinkTV hasn't even compared AFL 23 with AFL Live 2011 which is what most of you are trying to do, so my point proven.
I already began doing that, 2 weeks ago. I also sent more comparisons off to the support staff, I was hoping they could look into it and patch these mechanics in.

How so? Its a different game made on a different engine by mostly different people.

Yes you've said that, and it makes no sense.

It's a gameplay mechanic, if it was possible then, it's possible now. It's not like we're talking a mechanic that's only possible because of a specific piece of hardware like the wiimote. It's either a bug, or a conscious design decision by the developers.

And again, we're talking about Goldberg preferring a different gameplay mechanic. I don't need to have played either game to comment on that. I haven't said which one I personally prefer.

Clearly I’m not a programmer so I cant answer that for you. But as I’ve said, different tech, different staff, different game.
The fundamentals of sports games in general are pretty similar regardless of the above, especially in current times with such powerful hardware.

Smoothness, fluidity and seamless gameplay are important above all else in sports games and there’s absolutely no reason you shouldn’t expect it in 2023 when it’s been possible to do for the last two decades.

Whether it’s by design, a game engine limitation, inexperienced dev teams or laziness, I have no clue.

Goldberg's point is easy to understand. The turning has nothing to with hardware as the game is on PC and most PCs use different hardware anyway. Different team, staff etc is irrelevant. It's still an issue that the team can fix, regardless if they worked 12 years ago or not

I understand how it makes no sense because of the same technicalities you listed. But again I’m not a programmer, surely things have evolved in that space just as they have in many others, its not replicating the old game with the new tools because obviously they don’t really play anything alike. Something I can attest you in my experience playing the game.

Yes I absolutely understand his point I just dont see the relevance in comparing it to a 12 year old game or long standing game franchises. If they can fix it I’m sure it’ll be fixed. He’s posted his bugs several times now so hopefully it gets worked on.

So ... Is Goldberg allowed to prefer a different gameplay mechanic or not? 🤣

Sorry, I'm not sure what your point is anymore šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

I sent the turning issues in over a week ago, so not sure on the ETA or if they'll patch it. The exploitable release from a standing tackle they changed it differently from what I proposed to them. The irony, tackling now is closer to Live 1, but I suggested to them patch it to be more like their League games.

I’ve finally cracked. Took me two and a bit weeks but the PS4 is in the box, in the cupboard!
Knowing my lack of self control it’ll be out again by tonight but I’m just so frustrated!
I absolutely have faith that this’ll turn out to be an awesome game but until tactics come in, AI stop marking literally everything and have the reflexes to handball to blokes 15 metres away before they’ve almost even marked or received the ball, it’s just a game killer at the moment.
100% keeping the faith in Big Ant to get this right but today is killing me!

I don’t understand why people are complaining so much about the game - might be my understanding of software development that’s making me go more pro-BigAnt. I’ve started season mode & played a AFLW game recently and can say it’s definitely a great game, sure it’s got its issues - all games do.

Do people really want something that’s perfect??? You will never get anything perfect and be disappointed a lot in life. I’ve learnt in life that nothing is perfect, even something that seems perfect always has some small imperfections

Most people just want the obvious bugs fixed and to be able to play the modes and features promised to them.

Perfection certainly isn’t what I’m asking for. All I want is the features that are still missing from the game heading into the 3rd week of release and basic bug fixes.

No amount of software development experience would change my mind on that.

I don’t expect perfection. I’m just having a bad day and throwing a tantrum accordingly!
I’ve been extremely supportive thus far!

Nope still not working. When you add second controller it comes up with a sign in page within the game. Start inputting email address and after 3 or 4 characters crashes to an error screen.
So what’s the steps to reproduce this?
I tried:-
  • Have two controllers signed in to PS5 and connected to PSN accounts
  • Start the game
  • Controller 1: Press X to get past splash screen.
  • Controller 1: Select ā€˜Play Now’
  • Controller 1: Select AFL
  • Controller 2: Press Start to add Controller. (I think I needed to press this a second time… not sure)
  • Controller 2 account ā€˜signs in’ in the game, and can be switched to either side.
