Not sure how hill will fair over 100 meters i think he is more an aceleration runner and may get off to a good start but fade away at the end.

My prediction was dead on :) he blitzed them at the start for the first 40-50 then died off however in football a player would rarely sprint 100 metres so I am very happy with the result.

Will Hill still have that speed in a couple of years when he adds some bulk, easy to get off to a flyer when there is nothing to carry.

I'd think as long as the work is done properly, i.e. he does leg & core work to strengthen the important muscles for take-off and works on correct technique and speed exercises, he should be ok. Peter Matera was quick all his career and he is the bloke that Hilly reminds me of the most. Judd is super quick over 5 m and is a lot bigger than Hilly.

Where's Memories when you need him? I haven't seen him post here for a long time.

Heard he was above his own 8% level and pulled the pin.

Probably reading this and licking the last remnants of KFC's 11 herbs and spices of his chubby little fingers, fat ****.

Hey memories GTFO :thumbsu:

Just look at how solid an strong 100m sprinters are.
Yes you can bulk up with out losing any quickness if done right.
The most important part is to not lose agility, sideways movement, change of direction etc.

Hilly has a light frame as it is I think he will probably only get to around 78-80 kg's mean he will be putting on around 5-7 kg's if he puts the majority on in muscle he should improve his speed imo.

I want to see Hill vs Rich!

No reason why increased bulk will lead to Hill slowing down. It can be the opposite. I haven't seen many skinny sprinters. They are all tanks which is why they do not reach their peak until their mid 20's (Bolt excepted). Many sprinters have similar profiles to mature AFL players (e.g. Powell - 190cm and 88kg, Greene 175cm and 80kg).

Surprised at Thompson's action. He has sprint training (10.6 secs) yet had a very ordinary sprinting action. He was leaning forward so much so that it was mostly hamstrings propelling him along. Sprinters get their power from the glutes and Thompson would of lost a lot of power/time. Michael Johnson was an extreme example as he sprinted in that funny upright action, buts thats also why he was so good and why he had such a big arse. Stanley was a lot more upright and had a better action.

I used a stopwatch and clocked Stanley at 11.3 seconds. Of course a wet, damp, soft ground with no starters blocks, makes a huge difference.

How do you come to that conclusion? Nick seems like a very nice young kid, shame to see him injured.

Who ended up winning it anyway?

i agree nickety nat nat niu seems like a very sweet boy but doesn't it annoy you how much the media blow him up

Agree - sprinting is mostly about relative power (power/bodyweight) and being able to apply that power (via body structure and technique) - he seems to have good technique and structure for sprinting with added strength (his weakest link) would only make him quicker unless he adds the strength without relative power improvements. However, there's also a trade-off with endurance training that will impact negatively on power capabilities given the large running capacities required by midfielders in particular.
